I can’t remember the quality of the equipment for all my soldiers, nor can I remember all the different traits of all my soldiers. If I’m about to throw a grenade, I have no idea if it will be with the normal amount of effort or if they have the trait that increases the throw, which makes hocking rolls of dynamite at tanks more difficult. A way to access that information in-game would be nifty to help decide which soldier should be selected for which task. Or, if there’s already a way to access this info in-game, then my apologies and please provide me that information.
Great suggestion. I have been stewing on this myself and have yet to think of a “quick-glance” method to determine perks, ESPECIALLY the grenade throwing perk. That perk alone has a massive impact on tactical scenarios and can mean the difference between a burning tank and one continuing to mow down friendlies for several more minutes.
Good idea! I support.
With the grenade throw strenght with +50%, i got some trouble. I tried it with only 1 assaulter at the beggining of my Enlisted carrier. Never use that again, cause its hard to estimate, how far the soldier throws with/without that skill, also if you dont have all of your soldiers got that one. (Meanwhile I forget which one of my character has that skill, many times)
Let me to add +1:
- Would be great, if the soldiers have a “continous level up bar” somwhere in screen, to be sure how much time you need to spend for each soldier, if you focus on leveling them up.
E.g: Rank 3 Pilot is level 1 and half (1 gold star). In D-day I wanna focus on him to complete his perks in that match. (give him all 3 gold star, perks)
Big green “+” or arrow pointing up on the grenade icon for the throwing perk. Similar indication for health pack perks. Shaded portion of missing health indicating how much you will regenerate automatically while out of combat.
These are just off the top of my head. There are many more things that need to be displayed to the player that aren’t, and vice versa. We aren’t breaking any new ground here either, all of it has been suggested at least once. I personally created a suggestions thread regarding game interface more than a month ago. It was in Russian, though.
I never get that grenade perk as I was sure it would throw off my aim and I would never remenber it.
It really helps with frags and assaulters since you end up baseball-zinging it into windows before storming a building
This right here is exactly why I don’t take the longer grenade throw perk.
I think I’m going to adopt this strategy for the sake of becoming familiar with how the grenade throwing goes in this game, by default. Seems like the half-pound grenades can be thrown farther than the one-pound bundles of dynamite, which is neat. Besides, most of what I use the dynamite for is to blow up tanks, and I generally get REAL damn close from behind when I do that, so yeah, distance-throwing isn’t really a thing for me. If I do that, I’m about to die and it’s a hail-Mary kinda attempt, which basically always fails. But yeah, best to just get used to the default throwing and not leave it up to chance.
That’s a good point, so I guess it all depends on what you use it for.
