Infantry-Coordinated Artillery Division (inspired by Hell Let Loose)

Imagine a rear-line artillery division capable of bombarding the map based on coordinates provided by your infantry teams on the battlefield – a true tactical support system straight out of Hell Let Loose.

How it could work:

  • Infantry would spot enemy positions and relay precise coordinates via map markers.
  • Artillery, positioned in the rear, would fire with a realistic delay between shells, creating credible bombardments without overwhelming front-line players.
  • Different types of strikes could be available: saturation barrages, concentrated strikes, or defensive fire to protect key positions.
  • Self-propelled guns would be historically accurate:
    • German units: Hummel, Wespe, Grille
    • Soviet units: SU-76, SU-85, SU-122, ISU-152

Why this would be incredible for gameplay:

  • Turns battles into fully coordinated operations between infantry and artillery.
  • Introduces an unprecedented strategic role, making every match more tactical and engaging.
  • Allows massive offensives or key defensive positions to be supported with power and precision.
  • Encourages communication and planning, giving players a real sense of teamwork and impact on the battlefield.

With this feature, every battle would feel more alive, immersive, and strategic. You’re not just fighting anymore: you’re coordinating, planning, and crushing your enemies with the power of historical artillery. An experience that could redefine the gameplay of Enlisted.

I don’t know about the Su-85, but I know the rest were sometimes used as artillery

While I do agree, I think the matches of enlisted vs HLL make such a coordinated exercise difficult to implement. HLL matches are bigger, both in scale, timing and players on the match, so if u had 1-2 players doing artillery ur team in enlisted would be disadvantaged whereas in HLL, its such a big map with so many people, their loss is negligent / marginal. Perhaps this suggestion would be better made in a larger mode, with more players and a bigger map.

But I think it is a great idea, don’t stop making suggestions!!!

It’s really difficult. The AI in Enlisted right now is just too dumb.
They ignore tanks, don’t keep distance from moving tanks, and can’t sprint or bandage themselves quickly.

Forcing infantry-tank coordination like this just ends up with the tank running over a bunch of friendly AI.
On top of that, there’s a big speed difference between AI and players.
The AI can’t sprint to keep up, their reactions are delayed, so it’s hard to stay together.

They can barely do basic things like stay behind the tank to stop enemies from planting explosives.
Everything else still needs DF to fix.

It would be great if there was a command to order infantry to form a circle around the tank for proper infantry-tank coordination.
Would save me from having to press K all the time.

It sounds interesting, except our current maps are too small for such mechanism

A very interesting troop suggestion; frontline artillery observers are much more interesting than spies’ infiltration and sabotage behind enemy lines.
