The model does not match historical references. On real vehicles, four track segments are mounted horizontally along the hull sides, covering most of the side armour and reaching near the gun mantlet. However, the game uses six vertically arranged tracks with much smaller coverage.
The additional armour skin for the Italian M14 was faithfully recreated. It is suggested to adjust this design: replace the six vertical tracks on the turret with two horizontal ones on each side as seen in historical photos. Extra metal brackets can also be added to the front for authentic detailing.
Shall we reposition the tracks for better coverage?
Honestly, the six vertical tracks also look awkward. We could simply reuse the track arrangement from the M14 tank’s extra armor skin—mounting them horizontally on the sides. It would look much cleaner and more consistent.
I’ve noticed that even though they’re both M4A1 Shermans, the one in the photos has a larger gun mantlet.
The real one was a late M4A1, you can see it because the transmission housing on the front is smooth, lower and less circular, it’s the one that is on the M4A2 sherman in-game

What a pity. We currently don’t have a model for the late variant M4A1. It would be great if this extra armor skin could convert the vehicle from the early version to the late one.
But honestly, it seems their tracks haven’t been remastered in HD, right? Why do they all look so different?
I assume that this is deliberate as 1 countious long tack would be harder to make destructible in a sensible way.
Then why, when they released the spaced armor skin for the Italian M14/41, did they use two full horizontal track sections on both sides of the turret, fitting perfectly flush against it?
They clearly have the skill to make it look clean and fully attached.
After mounting the current skin, we can’t actually test its collision or armor values. But visually, it looks really bad, with poor coverage—nowhere near the quality of the old M14/41 skin.
It’s inspired by the picture not a 1:1 recreation it doesn’t need to be exactly the same.
