I notice that not a lot of players play the squad mode to achieve wins and rank yourself up. I personally get annoyed because the time spent isn’t worth the rewards for the rank, especially the temporary portraits for Marshal…beyond that it is just wasted points. It’s the same when I finish the BP after 10 days…the grind feels lacklustre. I think game play would benefit if more players grinded more in squad mode and not always custom.

I think I’ve said this somewhere before but ranks in Enlisted are meaningless, while in other multiplayer shooters…well, they indicate your rank, ironically. If you’re a certain rank, you play with people from one rank below, one rank above and the same rank as yours for example to keep the progression steady and the matchmaking to be more balanced. Here, in BR I as a new player you can face a player who sunk 2000 hours into this game, has everything unlocked, has old squads, rare weapons, knows the map, etc. It doesn’t matter how many FPS games you’ve played before, you don’t know the map layouts, the unique quirks this game has and most importantly, you don’t have access to the most important class, the Engineers.
Instead of meaningless ranks, the system could’ve been overhauled to indicate a player’s “level” or experience in the game, so you, as a new player won’t face off against veterans, regardless of the BR you choose to play in and the veteran players will be facing off against each other, making matches more interesting, fair and…relatively balanced.

I’m guessing it was on one of my posts…I post one everytime I finish the BP then again before it resets. I’m contemplating this time if I’m even bothering grinding for ranks and bonus levels this time…halfway there but already have 300 days of access to temporary portraits that I hate…even Silver Victory boxes would be awesome…bonus BP levels are 100 anyways…add one for every extra level and rank point above 160.
I agree for match making but pre-merge veterans have an advantage over post-merge veterans because of Legacy squads. Devs really need to find a way to balance it better.

Honestly, not worth it. If you do end up getting some ranks during the BP, you get scraps as rewards. If you collect the rewards for your achieved ranks in the next BP upon reset…you get scraps as rewards. LOL

i am glad that ranking system is totally meaningless. Stuff like that doesn’t belong to this game. They should straight up completely remove it instead.
