Basically all gear have some bigger or smaller differences between in game and irl performance.
Many infantry weapons don’t have correct rate of fire. And this is one of the very few “hard” stats that are actuall numbers and are not eyballed.
Tanks have altered speeds, shells, gun performance, and armour simulation is often bugged.
Planes have altered speed and manouverability.
We don’t even try to get close to ril performance, so why pretend?
Wouldn’t it be more benefitial to just scrap this pseudo realism based on nothing and do what all other games do?
Keep models and just give weapons some made up numbers based on stats. Make it symetrical if needed.
Remove bugged damage/penetration/armor system. It’s pointless anyway. HP bars at least work and are reliable. This is pure gimmic.
Maybe if we remove this, stuarts won’t be able to tank a PzF60 shot head on.

That’s literally what I don’t want. Same things for everyone with just different textures, so fkn boring.

Currently this “asymetrical balance” just exists for the sake of existing. It just makes things harder to balance and is based on nothing.
I’d also like to have asymetrical balance but not made by force just because we need it.
Yeah, but I don’t care about this. This game isn’t esport material.
Plus skill of your team does matter way more than balance of equipment. It’s kinda pointless to do 1 to 1 symmetrical balance since teams wouldn’t be balanced anyway.
Balance of equipment in this game is so overrated in my opinion.

BR MM is comming so prepare yourself.
Being SOMEWHAT able to ride the edge between fast paced action and (kind of) realistic equipment is one of the main peculiarities of Enlisted, as it has been for War Thunder for years.
As such, I think that realistic performance of guns is something that the game should keep pursuing, as a general principle, without dumbing it down too much for the sake of symmetry.
This doesn’t mean that “soft” parameters (like, say, reload time) can’t be tweaked to achieve a better balance both among weapons of the same faction, and between different factions.

Except the only “realistic” thing about all equipment is name and model.
And we don’t even try to improve it. Quite contrary.
See MKb and MKb sniper. Ppl embraced that the same weapon but with scope has different stats (including rof).
It is true that the current “asymmetric game” is puzzling and uninteresting in some aspects.
However, I am still waiting and believing that DF will eventually fix it to a perfect balance and make it a good asymmetric game.

Since ppl deffend the asymetrical balance I guess I can scrap this part of the post.
Though damage model is BS and should be removed and replaced with something that works.
Wait, don’t you want to see an E-sports professional league for Enlisted Game?
I don’t so much want to see…

If it’s your opinion, I think you shouldn’t. Devs should make a decision which opinions from community implement.
I personally just don’t like it. Everyone’s preferences differ.
Yeah, I do not want it too. That’s why I don’t care about unfairness/unbalance in the matter of equipment.
I think it’s more important to just fill both teams with real players. I really do not enjoy 2 vs 6 real players matches.
That’s the only problem I have with balance.

E-sports aside, I agree with this part.
the assymetrical balance is it the contrary of what dev want do with the BR, the BR work is assure a symmetric balance between faction at each BR range, so outside special cases there is no more equipment performance difference between faction at the same BR range, outside endgame where each faction get his unique thing
- allies good plane
- german good tank
- soviet good infantry weapon

Same power level doesn’t instantly means it’s symmetrical.
You can have two similar powerful smgs, but both are good in different things.
BR isn’t end of asymmetrical balance.

Sole equal campaigns seem to be Normandy and on paper Berlin.
Asymmetrical balanace in Enlisted didnt work.
This became asymetrical balance discussion and that was not my goal.
I wanted to focus on ballanced vs irl equipment stats.
Oh well.
Really?
I had never seen that in devblog or keo’s statements.
I thought the current weapon performance would be maintained and divided by a rough BR based on the weapon’s age of manufacture, etc.
Thompson, for example, has multiple versions from M1928 to M1A1, how would they be made equivalent to the MP40, would they all have the same performance? It’s a little hard to imagine.
Captured MP40
But hopefully not, lol. It would worst possible scenario.
You readed backword for understand this
The mp40 because of stats is the counter of probably m3a1/pps43
