In game market place

I think it would be nice to have a market place where you can list event or battlepass weapons and squads for sale. There are tons of weapons that new players have no access to . A market place would be a good way to get those weapons by trading for something else you already own.

If this happened then there’s German stuff I don’t want but American stuff I want. No doubt this would be very popular if it were added.

I just hope there’s a way to regulate prices because I don’t want another War Thunder scenario with $1000 squads…

Oh and legacy TT squads shouldn’t be sold. They should be added to TT for free, like they were pre-merge.

Agree we don’t need some tf2 $3000USD golden frying pan type thing either.

I agree with this idea.

I have three Liberator pistols Ill never use and would love to trade with someone else.

As has been alluded to many players get stuff they dont want or arent interested in and miss out on things they are.

Like thered be some players out there who got Australian event squads and are like “eh who cares” while myself as an Australian has been desperately wanting Australian soldiers in game for 6 years now.

Same with Universal Carrier.

I got a skin for some T 34 the other day, I never play tanks and especially not with Soviets but thered be others that want it.

Even silver too many of us have a bunch of silver we never really use.

I dont know whether it would be best to have DF set the prices or players, what do others think?

Cause I agree it would be a disaster having $1000 squads and such, though Id fear DF themselves would set unreasonable prices on items especially more desirable ones like squads and weapons.

I think if we can get darkflow to agree to not approve any listing above current premium squad prices, we’d be at a pretty good spot. And then it’s up to players from there to set prices, and obviously, cheaper will sell more than dearer.

I just don’t know whether the currency should be gold or real money. At least with real money darkflow can take a share like what valve does (which should make them more content with lower prices and the idea of a market), but with gold you’re still paying them anyway.

Maybe it should be gold for more adaptive pricing?

I would strongly argue silver.

I can understand premium squads since at some point those were paid with real life money (often $60 AUD) but event squads and weapons should be ‘free’.

As a F2P player I believe silver is the fairest option cause otherwise we’re almost back to square one with only certain people able to participate, plus it wouldnt be right imo someone getting lets say a Lewis gun (British event version) for free and then charging real money for it, even if the profits went to DF.

Trading system would be good where you just swap items and negotiate value, maybe silver could come into it where appropriate
(in my previous examples I might have that T34 skin and offer someone with Lewis gun the skin and 5000 silver lions and we trade)

I completely forgot about event squads. Much like legacy TT squads, they should never be sold for real currency. However, it’s much harder to gauge a limit for silver, unlike gold or money. Unless we use gold to silver conversion as a basis. Mind you, this is very rough maths.

For me at least, 100 Gold is A$1.40, and 7 gold gets you 100 silver. So, using that as a basis, 100 gold (or A$1.40) should get you around 1,428 silver. If we multiply that by 48 (roughly how many times 60 breaks down into 1.4), we get around 60,000 silver. I believe that should be the limit for event or legacy squads.

I also support a trade system. Unless you’re purely out there just to scalp, trade benefits both parties more so than just straight currency exchange. Besides, with silver boxes and cost of living, who has 60,000 silver or $58 to spend on a single squad.

Hey I just realised we’re both Australian. Must be the only 2 on the forum.

I can agree with these.

Perhaps one could also compare relative items/squads in the tech tree like if a Lewis gun was BR III, we could look at the cost of a BR III Allied LMG and then say like idk no more than 5 times the value of a tech tree weapon or whatever.

Im sure the forum and devs could work out rough prices, squads no more than $60k silver I agree, but Id also personally take into account what the squad actually is.

Eg. The Australian squad with Austen SMG, ultimately thats basically just to get Australian soldiers, the Austen (unsurprisingly) is really just a Sten gun that looks different.

So in that instance Id say the squad shouldnt cost very much.

Whereas a Kugelblitz or Finnish Suomi SMG with flamethrower squad I think are worth more because they are more powerful and beyond pure cosmetics.

And yeah I would think most people would want to trade rather than just get silver (and if you got gold I feel it might be problematic if you could then get real money from the gold like a legacy squad I got for free, sell for gold, convert gold back to AUD and hey I got a ‘free’ $60 thats a can of worms)

But yeah most people would be I want XYZ you have ABC and we want to use each respective item in game not just scalp.

Also agree 100% with cost of living I do question the price of a lot of these premium squads, indeed both Enlisted and WT often they dont even offer much of an advantage,
like who wants to spend like $40 AUD just to play as Chinese soldiers (whose uniforms are basically just standard American) with another Thompson thats good but nothing remarkable?

Haha yeah there’s some of us here and there. I dont understand why our national slouch hats or digger hats must be locked behind paywalls/event squads.
(as I always say the British officer’s peaked cap was in the Sten Mk III premium squad was made freely available in tech tree so idk why we cant get Australian, or New Zealand hats as customisation)

i was thinking only using silver or just trade weapon for weapon . no gold or real currency.
