So having another trooper squad to play through that is exactly like the two before it with a pretty boring weapon has got me thinking as to what could be changed to make trooper III even a little bit more interesting.
It is not much but I was thinking of adding a 4th specialist slot for Trooper III to differentiate it from the previous ones and to further spread out the XP per level requirement a little more making leveling the squad easier.
Main issue I am running in to right now would be what options should be available for the 4th specialist.
A solid one would be an option for an AT soldier.
Otherwise I am not sure but was thinking another assaulter so you could have 2 assaulters or 1 assaulter and 1 machine gunner. Though that could lead to issues in regards to moscow and soviet SMGs.
Was also thinking about sniper but that would put it too close to sniper squads and there are enough horribly positioned sniper players pulling their team down that it would be a bad idea.
Flamer would be right out I think as it should stick to the current flame trooper squad (they are realy awesome in my opinion).
Mortar would be a possibility but quite often mortar soldiers are underwhelming and it would also compete strongly with the mortar squad where you can only have 2 mortar soldiers.
Machine gunner is right out.
Thus for the time being I would say a fourth specialist slot with the option for either anti-tank or assaulter sounds like the best option to me right now and no third option. Maybe if they introduce a new class of soldier.
