I’ve been playing Enlisted for years now so, naturally i’d been played with some premium/event squads acquired through the events/sale and some of them felt quite underwhelming compared to their counterpart squads in the tech tree and i felt like by using them actually putting me in disadvantages rather than being on par with using other squads.
I’d like to suggest some improvement/update for them. First, i’d like to explain that why such squads feel underwhelming and the way to improve them without compromising the game balance in my opinion.
Okay, so let me start with the premium engineer squad first, more specifically, the ones with 4 squad members available and either one more AT gunner or one more enginner by one’s choosing.
An example of such squad :

For a starter, as you can see, can only hold up to total 5 man compared to 6 man in the regular tech tree engineer squad. The weapons on them are not particularly effective as well since these type of premium squad always comes with either bolt-action rifles or semi-auto rifles, no automatic weapons available for them. Also, there’s no distinctive buildable placements for them as well, all other premium/event squad enginners can build everything that these type of premium engineer squad can build.
My suggestion for improvement on this one is simple. Make them total up to 6 man squad just like the regular tech tree ones and give them a choice to be able to add one more AT gunner/Radio operator/Assaulter, again just like the regular tech tree engineer squads so that at least these type of premium engineer squad would go on par with the tech tree engineer squads to some degree.
Next up, the premium rifleman squads.
An example of such squad :
Unlike the premium engineer squads, these are not undermanned but they could use some improvements. They have no enginner whatsoever so they cannot build rally points, they cannot deal with tanks at range due to the absence of AT gunner.
I suggest 2 out of 9 soldiers in these type of squad turn into Engineer and AT gunner respectively(Basically, make them have the same usefulness as the event chinese rifleman squad in the USA faction). That way, it would make them more versatile and actually useful in most situations just like the tech tree rifleman squad does.
Third one, the premium assaulter squads.
Okay, before you say “What do you mean the premium assaulter squads need an improvement they are amazing”, hear me out.
An example of such squad :
You are absolutely right. Most of them are amazing but there are some old premium assaulter squads that are only comes with 4x Assaulters that you have to put 2 soldiers from tech tree to make them 6 man squad. Unlike 5 man premium assaulter squads, which consists of 4x Assaulters and 1x Enginner(Which also equipped with the same SMG/Assault rifle as Assaulters so retains some pretty good automatic weapon firepower), not only these old premium assaulter squads lack firepower to match the tech tree assaulter squads but also undermanned compared to them. The tech tree assaulter squad can have up to total 4x Assaulters, 1x Machine Gunner, 1x Enginner and 1x AT Gunner at the same time so really there’s no advantage for these old premium 4 man assaulter squads unless they have particularly good gun for it’s battle ratings.
I suggest either give them 1 more soldier slot to be able to accommodate 1x Machine Gunner or turn them into 5 man assaulter squad(4x Assaulters and 1x Engineer).
