WHY WE SHOULD HAVE ±0 BR MATCHMAKING
- Uptiers will no longer ruin your fun of enjoying BR4 weapons and vehicles.
- Balancing would be easier since no up/down tier to account for. For example, no need to figure out how to buff BR4 semis to make it viable to fight BR5 select fires if they would never meet in the first place.
- The game can finally give bots BR appropriate equipment without it being unfair to uptiered players. Imagine BR5 bots with select fires or assault rifles.
- Incentive for devs to create BR4 content.
- It will make the off-meta stuff like motorcycles, AT rifles etc. more viable in BR1.
COMMON CONCERNS WITH ±0 BR MATCHMAKING
- Not enough players to implement.
enlistedrollcall.com shows us that this is simply not the case. With 500k+ unique players there’s plenty of players to make this possible. Even in the Chinese version of Enlisted which is region locked implements ±0 BR matchmaking despite having SIGNIFICANTLY less players. If they can do it why can’t we?
- Longer queue times
I’d say its a good trade off if it means we get to have more fun matches just because you don’t get uptiered anymore. The devs can also max out the squad size that the bots use and make them very aggressive behavior wise to make the matches more “ALIVE” outside of prime time hours.
