Imagining guns for the game

I don’t mean existing science fiction guns or such I mean take a ww2 gun and make up a variant.

For example:
Walther P38 exists
Luger P08 Artillery exists

The made up gun:
Walther P38 Artillery with extended mag, barrel and pistol stock.

I see what you’re saying. Would need to call these weapons “custom” or “field mod” to feel more believable imo.

Yeah imagine that but a Walther P38 instead of a Luger.

I get the premise of your idea, I’m just having a very hard time coming up with an idea that isn’t already a thing (even if only prototyped)…

For example, my first thought was; “A belt fed Bren gun”.

But then I remembered that’s already a thing:

(Post-war, guys… sorry).

Rule of thumb for gun designs; if you can think of it, its probably already been tried (or there was a very good reason for why it wasn’t)

But, I’d rather not see made-up guns added… sorry.

Oh yeah this is in mess as it’s just funny making scheiß up, not actually about adding them to the game.

One of the things I always wanted to see was a semi-automatic Kar98k in 8mm Kurz and a simplified STG or most likely a better VG1-5 though, in fact, something similar to that did exist in the postwar period.

Spanish prototypes based on the STG

There’s also this picture of different guns based on the STG family wich i don’t know if it’s real or not

As for combinations, modified weapons, or prototypes: an extended or drum magazine for the StG sounds viable; an SVT-40 modified for 8mm Mauser wouldn’t require major changes and someone maybe did it; Japanese Type 96 and Type 99 LMGs with belt feeds or side-mounted magazines; and definitely an MKb 42(M) with a 30-round magazine.

Edit: the images i modified them with AI from the actual design of the MKB42 (M) in game

This is just an extra to appreciate the designs since we’re on the subject, a “Mauser” family of weapons instead of H&K; it was a “what-if” concept I found on Artstation a while back.

Didn’t the Czech basically make a better VG 1-5 before the VG 1-5 existed?

Also damn that’s cursed. An StG 44 with an MP40 folded stock…
