What I think they should do is make the tanks more arcade, more battlefield or COD style. Because tanks get stuck anywhere, no matter how silly it is. They are slow and any little damage endangers the entire tank, its squad or both.
That or balance the game more, because AT squads are useless.
Find a lone fighter lobby which is full or lots of players have yourself on one side and your friend on the other meet up in a particular area of the map and just keep damaging yourself but not killing each other and then one of your other friends would come and repair the damage tank and get a lot of XP and start power leveling that way.
Have fun with the information and if you have any friends for it.
And this is a chance for Devs to fix this or leave it in the game.
Tiny maps that are composed of Infantry units that are ALL capable of destroying a tank with TNT charges and Molotovs.
Tiny maps that force tanks to engage each other at close distances (around 100m+/-)
Tiny maps where aircraft rockets/bombs can easily destroy all armored units (every 60-90 seconds).
The result: A large influx of tankers who choose to remain in the grey zone, because they aren’t interested in being instantly immobilized, and then have their squad wiped out (one-by-one) as the player attempts to repair all the broken modules.
I mean… what kind of experience are Axis tankers going to have, when it comes to HVAR rockets that have MASSIVE splash damage? If the tank doesn’t get instantly destroyed, there will be at least 3+ modules/parts that need repaired.
And if the player is lucky enough to survive during a full-repair… then it’s just a matter of 30-60 seconds before the aircraft makes another attempt at destroying the tank.
But the shills on the forum appear to disregard all these variables, and continue to defend poor choices and features that are implemented into the game.
I can’t recall reading anywhere on the forum (in the past few months), where anybody in the community asked for this new vehicle repair system…
However, there have been A LOT of people who have been asking for the bi-pod mountain system to be fixed/improved. And for machine gun emplacements to have better angling (especially downward angles, to be able to engage soldiers who are at a lower elevation)
And people have been asking for AT cannons to be fixed… where they don’t spasm all over the place, when constructed.
And there’s been a lot of people asking for engineer options to be expanded and improved.
And there’s been a lot of requests for team communication, and for the communication-wheel to be updated (we still can’t say YES/NO when teammates are requesting ammo boxes/rally points/ etc.)
Honestly it wouldn’t be so bad if there were more soldiers carrying toolkits that could help tanks get back in the fight!
Too bad toolkits are only used for tank repair and not something like taking down fortifications as well.
Then more people would be carrying them in the first place and actually be able to assist in getting a tank going again too, making to cooperation between infantry and tanks a lot more cohesive.
People might be more inclined to repair a vehicle, if tankers had an option to request a repair and/or cover fire.
But at the moment, there’s no way to communicate with each other… which means each player is simply doing his/her own thing.
It’s almost like a hybrid between a single-player game, and an online game where we can’t effectively communicate with each other (unless your playing in a stack/using discord).
In case you were unaware:
if you have toolkits in your inventory, and a nearby tank is damaged, a symbol pops up above it meaning that you can repair it!
A bit of what you are saying already exists, IF you have toolkits on you. If you don’t, it doesn’t pop up because there is nothing you can really do anyways.
Yeah I know about it. But I’m referring to when a teammate’s vehicle is out of our Line-of-sight.
For example: I might have a toolkit, and am currently engaged/defending inside of a building…
I might be focused on the enemy, and am not paying ANY attention to a nearby friendly tank.
It would be useful if the tanker could call for a repair (which would prompt and display on my screen)…
To which, I would order my squad to hold position inside the building, and then run over to the tank and assist with a repair.
Without team communication, I wouldn’t know the tanker needed help (unless I was micromanaging my teammate).
Not necessarily true! There are backpack options (small lets you carry 2 items, while the large lets you carry 4) that will allow you to carry BOTH medkits AND toolkits.
However, it means that character won’t be carrying extra grenades or ammo, which is a fair balance.
If fortifications required an engineer OR tookits as consumables to “DECONSTRUCT”, you would likely see a LOT more people running around with some toolkits on their soldiers, which makes the new tank repair system pretty useful actually.
Which would lead to spending silly amounts of weapons orders. Those who have premium or have been playing for a long time will not bother but for the new ones who have to arm their soldiers, having something else to spend on makes it unfair.
the new system just sucks, if this continues members should get disabled on infantry too, if you get shot in the leg you can’t move, if you het shot in arms you cant hold your weapon, infantry should be afraid of getting wounded like tanks are of getting damaged, and i hope who agree with the new system on tanks should agree with the same system on infantry or is just a crying or
hypocritical move
Tanks already get damaged components though, that’s always been the case. The only difference is you can’t fix the entire tank while hiding behind it now. I like using tanks and I’m really not seeing the problem here. Just another straw man argument
tanks get damaged in components, yes, but when you’re in a game where the max distance you gonna be from the enemy is 100meters or less, sit behind the tank to repair and get in top of it in front of the tank is the difference between save your tank or loose your tank and loose your crew one by one, so yes members getting disabled on infantry is a thing, or this game become a “hardcore” to everyone or not, doesn’t make sense the gun and run to infantry and the hardcore to tankers, what gonna happen is most people that play tanks will quit, and the remaining ones will sit in respawn and will just wait someone fall on its aim
