I'm not sure how much longer this lunacy needs to continue Because tankers and pilots need a job Instead of coming here just to murder AI's and players

Cause I’d say me and Reaper care about the longevity of this game and fast-paced and zerg rushing gameplay It’s not exactly healthy for the game.

why?

if a fraction of your proposals would go through I would stop playing this game immediately.

I’m not saying this to start a confrontation. It’s my honest opinion.

Do you think it’s fun to play a match which ends in under 10 minutes when you’re trying to level up or do events or with an XP booster.

My posts are not that relevant I would say Reapers is more important than I.

i do. i do alot of “speedrun” matches. i enjoy them alot !

but you didnt answer:

why ?

on a game that the rules are set for fast pace, why fast pace wouldnt be healthy ?

fast spawn times and highly availability of spawns
W - Die - spawn
squad of AI “always” there to be a second life.

etc etc

why fast pacing gameplay, would hurt the game?

(i m just asking)

Reaper is a very rational and wise member of this community.

BUT, my opinion regarding most of his suggestions is the same as it is for yours.

Those fast-paced matches that you enjoy so much sure they’re good for a few matches but after a while it’s gonna get Boring for you but when you have a good match where objectives are not instantly cab and defenders are doing their work and the match is going on those matches are a lot more enjoyable.

You’re probably a fast-paced person so I don’t think I can really convince you.

this game is fast-paced. and the core-mechanic of this game got me hooked in the first place.

i fail to understand why you so desperately wanna change it?

maybe. out of 5600 battles maybe less than 100 slow ones i did enjoy. fast paced ones are fun for me.

i do get bored on slow paced matches in enlisted. i remmeber all matches my team or enemy team dont atack as much or as frequent or , as chaotic, and the game just gets dull.

So I don’t have to spend time queuing for multiple matches so I can get XP and level up and I like long matches.

longer times in a batle most likely (on a win with good score it will) will provide less XP per minute tho.

oh you’re lucky to get those matches I’m hiding in custom games because I don’t like the fast-paced matches.

I guess that’s true but when it comes to doing an event or leveling up your squad or your soldiers it’s useful.

I just had a great game in Moscow. The settings were normal aka “Enlisted-style” but the tickets or reinforcements were very generous.

I think this is the path they should choose.

Same goes for all conquest modes in this game.

Increase reinforcements or decrease ticket bleed

Those are the kind of matches I’m talking about there’s plenty of blood to go around and everyone comes out as a winner if I’m correct that’s not exactly a fast-paced match there if there’s that much blood.

Id be happy with Mooooar tickets to eat.

I’m just going to lump this together as it seems there was a conversation that I missed.

“Fast-paced gameplay” is ok to a certain degree. However, unfortunately the fast-paced style has led to a host of issues that most players don’t enjoy, especially new players (I say this as I have spent quite a lot of time recently talking to new players on xbox, as I’m the go to “mentor” in the club/ clan that I’m in.)

Within the game there exists a whole host of squads and soldier types to use. This would imply that there are also a lot of different tactics to be used. Especially considering the game is designed to be the WWII era. Historically speaking, most of those combats were in no means short, and the soldiers didn’t go out of their way to get themselves killed (which a lot of the “fast-paced gameplay” does.

Tactics were used that in theory should be within the game, but either are not or and extremely underwhelming in favor of fast paced run and gun gameplay.

While I understand that some people enjoy that type of gameplay, which is what makes COD such games so popular, I really don’t think that is a good direction for Enlisted to take. A LOT of players (at least that are on Xbox) have migrated from the Battlefield franchise to Enlisted for the mixed unit tactics, strategic gameplay, and large map size.

While there are SOME parts where flamethrowers, assaulters, etc have their use, players are being essentially forced to play the fast-paced run and gun gameplay, instead of having the option for strategic combat.

When I first began playing the game, a bit more than a year ago now, there was a bit of the game that really caught my attention, which has since been getting lessened with each update.

  • The part that caught my attention (and also that of my buddies), was that you could potentially outplay your opponents that were using run and gun gameplay, by using strategy and teamwork to your advantage.

This included primarily the use of engineer fortifications. The “golden era” of the game is when they finally brought in the ability to stack sandbags to be used for defenses. It allowed us to actually fortify MG nests somewhat decently to where we could hold back the assaulting forces, and the game was actually a lot more fun on defense.

In the current state of the game however, we find ourselves having absolutely no difficulty on offense due to the sheer options available to offensive style of play. Meanwhile, the ONLY time we see wins as defense is when we carry the whole team and use tactics that honestly are really shady to use in my opinion.

Tactics such as:

  • setting Czech Hedgehogs or tanks in doorways because there are just too many points of entry otherwise

  • spamming flamethrowers or molotovs in doorways

  • HE spamming or artillery spamming the objective despite it being filled with friendlies (which is really exploitable by the way)

  • etc.

These tactics shouldn’t be NECESSARY to win as defense. The simple lack of defensive capabilities, the lack of knowing where the objective is going to go, and the sheer offensive capabilities offered within the game are abhorring to me.

IN ADDITION, in the case of tanks within the game:
It feels like an entire chunk of the game is missing due to the current gameplay of and surrounding tanks, but even this, in my opinion, traces back to the issues mentioned above.

Because the capabilities of defenders are far below what they should be, especially in the department of defenders being unable to properly fortify buildings, or put effective hazards up in FRONT of objectives, rather than ON them, Tanks are far stronger (and exploitable) being used as artillery. While historically that was ONE of their uses, they were also historically used for breakthrough operations.

If however, it were changed to where defensive fortifications actually held up, and provided an actual obstacle for infantry, and tanks were no longer as effective for just sitting back endlessly shelling, we would see tanks push up to help the infantry.

HOWEVER, one major issue still exists, also stemming from the “fast paced gameplay” angle. Explosive packs.

While tanks can be difficult to deal with sometimes, (they are TANKS after all), there are tons of options to take them out. Unfortunately, by giving explosive packs the capabilities that they have, AT soldiers, AT mines, and numerous other items and tactics (that are historically accurate after all) are made completely obsolete. Instead giving run and gun players yet another tool to easily pass through the game.

How often do you see impact grenades, smokes, even standard frags in comparison to explosive packs? No where near as often.

I digress,
My point is, the fast paced (run and gun) gameplay is detrimental to the game as all the gameplay and balancing is focused around that single element, rather than making it an element to the overall game where each strategy has its pros and cons.

If it could be countered by strategic gameplay, and players actually needed to ADAPT to situations, rather than the solution always being “keep throwing assaulters, flamethrowers, and explosions at it”, the game would be MUCH more enticing for ALL players, not just those that enjoy fast paced play.

This means that it will attract MORE players and grow the playerbase, which is only a good thing for everybody and the long-term for game.

FTFY.
