This game has tons of prototype content. And I’d prefer every faction have unique content. Otherwise we might as well give Americans Stgs because there are plenty of photos of them with captured ones

In terms of captured content I think a faction should get something if they did something to make it unique and their own, again cuz otherwise we might as well just have copy and pasted stuff

For example, the MP 717 was chambered for German pistol rounds instead of Soviets (yes it’s a small case but an exception none the less). Or the Su-76i was a Soviet captured Panzer 3 turned into an assault gun.

I’ve also suggested that AT soldiers should drop their weapon upon death so you or the enemy can pick it up. If you want a Panzerfaust as a Soviet go out and hunt one down

the biggest hypocrisy from those who defend T34s is that their turret armor is actually weaker than that of a panzer IV - but for some reason its “OK” if every hit to the turret one hit kills a Panzer IV, but a direct hit to the turret cheeks of a T34 will most of the time simply make the shot disappear into nirvana.

body armor is in no way “meh” if it works as described it cuts down the effective damage out put of rifles in half. one hit kill vs two hit kills is a massive issue.

Rifles dont care

For semi autos, Vitality does that. Body armor just extends the range threshhold of the 2 shots a little bit

something that has been said to him numerous times. but you know germany suffers cause more bullets=better gun no matter other stats making the vickers best gun in the game.

semi autos are rifles ._. and if you have a 14 dmg semi auto rifle you will survive one single shot if combining all the HP and reductions

again, 35% more HP results in 13.5 total HP + the soviet body armor you get more than 14 “effective HP” → combined with flamers and paratroopers extra vitality you get basically 15+ HP

FYI Im not disagreeing. I just said that there is a point where you need 2 shots to kill without body armor anyway, for a gewer 43/SVT-40 2 shots past 60 meters with just vitality.

Vitality and Body armour is all that is necessary. Vitality, body armor and Flamer Vitality is redundant. still 2 shots at all ranges (Specifically gewer 43)

Unless this data table I’m looking at is out of date.

well we are talking about a two shot kill in even close quarters, which should be problematic right? I mean, this would be a possibilty for ALL troops because of the armor plate cosmetic, not just flamers and paratroopers, all Soviet Soldier could “potentially” survive one shot from a semi auto rifle.

This must be a balance concern.

Its actually funny, the body armor affects the semi auto full rifle calibre more than it does a smg (Mp40) round. (Which should be the other way round)

If i was going to persist with questioning it, id focus on this.

well, to be honest, we do this no matter what, because at those close damage numbers there is always a high chance of downing the enemy and not killing them, but if you down your enemy at least you usually win the fight.

well yes that is my whole point, I don’t even mentioned SMGs once in this discussion because of half the shots going all around the place anyways, one more bullet will usually not really matter - especially with high rate of fire guns.

But the slower the weapon and the smaller the magazines, the more devastating even 10% more HP can be. A one hit kill or a two hit kill makes the difference between a good semi auto rifle and something like a M1 Carbine or Volkssturm Gewehr

The kicker is, that close range, body armor does nothing to mp40 “point blank”, no extra bullet

Vitality perk 3 shots under 30 meters
Vitality + Body armor 3 shots under 20
Vitality +flamer + body armor 3 shots under 20 meters

Probably wont even notice

Anyway. I find it intetesting to lay out. It doesnt bother me none, but yeah.

I like asymmetry, i dont want body armor for germans, but maybe a downside to armor like movement speed, or no effect vs full rifle calibre

asymmetrical balance can always work if done correctly, like if you give Japanese faster sprint speed during charges, Soviets bigger squads, Americans better semi auto rifles at lower BR, Germans functioning bipods (lol).

But simply giving Soviets 10% less damage because, well why not is not only lazy but simply not fair - even if in itself is just a “small issue”
