Ok so idk what og warthunder used to be like but let say if enlisted is going to be like warthunder you know half ww1/2 and cold war/modern stuff. Then the campaign should be Korean war first right? since I learn that russian still use dp27 at that point so it will be like in between modern stuff and ww2 just an idea that why I didnt put it as a suggestion tag. Just want people opinion on this “idea” tbh.
I wouldn’t care about post wwii stuff, so that’s my opinion.
I don’t think they are thinking about the Cold War campaign right now, as I think the developers are nervous about how not to screw up the major update at hand.
However, there has been talk here many times about the possibility of a Korean War at some point. And other things about the Sino-Japanese war and the Winter War…
That is a fun topic to imagine things about.
I would love to see a ColdWar campaign, but first they should perfect WW2 imo.
The game does not have the entire pre-1940 battlefield and there are several timelines and battlefields that are missing about WW2. Don’t forget the Winter War as well.
Just for point out
They need only make VA,map and the uniform for North, south korea and for some chinese premium squad
they already have:
- gun and veichle used in the conflict
- asian model (mixed between japanese, usa, soviet)
Yeah, I still think it would be a pretty big change if the Korean War were to be implemented. They will prepare quite meticulously.
If they are going to make a move, I think it will be at least after the merge, and even after the merge, there are many battlefields and armies that have not been touched in WW2, so it will still be much later before they get around to the Cold War.
However, we are free to imagine and have fun.
The Korean War was the beginning of the Cold War, and the battlefield would have a unique mixture of the old and the new. I am confident that the developers will not miss that atomosphere if they recreate the Korean War.
some photos from the 1950s here.
Helicopters, for example, the Korean War was a war in which helicopters were used to a large extent.

Bell H-13 Sioux korea somewhere,1952-1954
H-25 Mule/*HUP Retriever sasebo/japan 1955
Although the Korean War had ended by the time this photo was taken, helicopters were still in service during the Korean War.
Also, the field jackets and vests of the U.S. soldiers were changed when they moved from WW2 to the Korean War, so it will be necessary to reproduce them if the Korean War is implemented.

M36 GMC with 50 caliber 90mm tank gun M3, WW2 weapon but not present in Enlisted, this needs to be implemented before the Korean War. Korea 1952
Recreating the interesting terrain of Korea would also be a task…
The locations ranged from devastated and abandoned towns to urban areas, snowfields, and mountainous terrain.

In addition, it was not only U.S. forces that took part in the Korean War, but also the armies of many other countries within the framework of the United Nations Forces.

During the 1950s, there were considerable changes in the U.S. shipborne aircraft. It will be necessary to consider what aircraft might appear in the Korean War.

Well…If the Korean War is to be implemented, DarkFlow has a lot of work to do…
Nothing stop them to work a bit on the cold war And a bit on the ww2, warthunder still release ww2 update alongside modern one
But i actually hope they focus only on the ww2 first, but this depends on them
Still there is the possibility that dev do a bit of both at the same time for every major update
Yes, it is still possible that Darkflow could implement the Korean War through messy copy-and-paste.
But I would hold out hope. I hope they understand that it can’t be recreated by just copying and pasting and that it needs to be a single major update if they want to recreate its charm.
The problem with Korean War and the reason why nobody dared to try it despite some subtle stuff like the 38th Parallel Line map in War Thunder is because of it being a huge political landmine besides being mostly copy paste with a mixture of Berlin Soviet along with some Japanese weapons, German ones from WWII and the ones China have including imported ones. Sure we have MiG-15 but tanks are copy paste with T-34-85s, IS-2s and Lend Lease M4A3E8s.
Atleast Vietnam offers more variety of weapons for both North and South with the North can have AKMs and other weapons supplied by various communist states including USSR, China, GDR and even Romania while South being everything else supplied by the US.
Damn shame the alt cold war gone hot FPS game called 83 have more chance to get scrapped than ever get released to the market. Would be nice to have some AK-74s.
I too was very much looking forward to 83, but am concerned that I have not heard from you.
Well, the Cold War has a completely different atmosphere in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, so whether 83 is released or not, if Enlisted can recreate the Cold War of the 50s and 60s, it could be a unique entity in the video game world.
would rly hope not, wts a mess
Play RS2 or CW CoDs.
I have some bad news for you. Heard about Anti-Matter studios shutting down which is very unfortunate and I did play Rising Storm 2 besides Red Orchestra 2.
With Gaijin’s resources, its possible to have a combined arms approach of the likes of Saigon 1975 but the jungles and tunnels are going to create a serious pathing issue for bots.
And I dont know how they want to balance air since the North didnt mass deploy planes etc. and commie Vietnam planes wrecking the South feels ridiculous.
One thing the North Vietnam is strong at is air defense giving US aircraft a headache. As for tanks, heard about the usage of tanks by North consist of T-34s and T-54s were used in major offensives.
How they balanced axis normandy/berlin, balance is the most easy thing to do in a semi-fictional scenario
So we get Northern jets huh.
Still think RS2 is better.
Damn commies.
Neither of those mentions the 50’s.
Wow…that is unfortunate news.
Even the RS2, even after its release, was not perfect and seemed to be in the middle of development.
Realistic shooters may have a hard time attracting customers.
Oh was thinking more on th 60’s only. My bad.
