Hi there, I’ve been thinking of a couple features that may improve this game further lately. I have a few suggestions in mind, but I feel the following two would have the most positive impact for the game as it is now,
First, a new squad command to give suppressive/covering fire with a certain radius in the general direction that I’m looking. This would be useful in situations when there are incoming enemy from open fields or tight spaces. I think this will make the game more strategic as a whole and let squad AIs perform more effectively, rather than just standing around near you or defending a point passively, waiting to take enemy fire. Although, this might be tricky to implement correctly.
Second, if the developers intend to push this game more towards realism than arcade, then I propose that every time your squad is eliminated, the game should deduct a number of your final earned experience points. This could encourage players to make more strategic decisions when advancing towards enemy lines, rather than just blindly throwing themselves and their entire squad into enemy fire, but this could also present a problem if your enemies can kill you at your spawn point.
Both of these are just vague ideas I thought about and in no ways perfect. What are your opinions?
As much as this would be “useful” theres no suppression effect in game ( Thank god )
And the amount of ammo is extremely scarce, meaning ur bots would run out of ammo in 1 suppression command.
So in that sense I dont see reason to add such.
if you see a group of enemy, and you are with your squad, if you make them keep their position ( by pressing x on the ground below you ) and than press V mark towards the enemy, your AI will look at your placed mark, and start fire if they detect enemies in their radious.
weather the second,
unfortunately enlisted it’s just an arcade game with elements of “realism”.
outside the new hardcore of course.
but, i’ll be gladly open to apologize if devs proves me that i’m wrong. after all, i love sourprises.
anyway,
i’m not entirely sure about this one, as unfortunaly, it is a bit vague for me.
but don’t we already have a score system based on performance?
That’s a horrid idea. Makes grinding harder for nothing. A lot of times the only way to cap or defend is muscle your way into the point and sacrifice squads. Like that first point in Königsplatz. What other way is there to cap other than stack bodies on it?
In that case it definitely wouldnt hurt as the current AI has fairly bad accuracy ( which is fine )
But definitely would increase the probable effiency of AI.
But if the “suppression” firing mode gets implemented it would be quite necessary for AI to be capable to individually replenish ammo from the crates.
Losing points for dying would encourege the rampant grievers in lone fighter even more, since their pleasure out of this game is killing reammates until they get kicked. So far they only lose points. Making you lose points by killing you would give them even more reason to do so. So for now it’s realy bad idea, at least until the grieving problem is solved.
