Ideas for Canadian Squads! 🇨🇦

In SITREP №3, the Developer hinted at the possible addition of Canada in the future, which I was very Glad to read this!

So, I would like to share my ideas for creating Canadian squads.

1. Squad with the Ross Mk III Sniper Rifle (BR II):

A famous Canadian 5 round rifle equipped with a “Warner & Swasey Model 1913” telescopic sight.

Thanks to the telescopic sight mounted on the left side of the receiver, the magazine can be loaded with stripper clips while still allowing the use of the iron sights.

2. Squad with the Huot Automatic Rifle (BR V):

Major_Robert_Blair_with_Huot

A Canadian automatic rifle developed by Joseph Huot during the First World War.

The automatic rifle was equipped with a 25 round drum magazine and had a rate of fire of around 650 rounds per minute.

It also had a semi automatic firing mode, while its relatively low rate of fire provided high accuracy and
low recoil.

Which Canadian squad would you like to see added?

  • Squad with the Ross Mk III Sniper Rifle (BR II)
  • Squad with the Huot Automatic Rifle (BR V)

Uniform:

Unlike British soldiers, Canadian troops in Europe wore greenish uniforms during the summer instead of the standard brownish khaki.

The greenish shade of Canadian uniforms was due to the characteristics of local production, the dyes used, and the wool.

The Mk III helmet was also widely used among Canadian units:

Because of its distinctive shape, soldiers nicknamed it the “Turtle” :turtle:.

This helmet was only worn in Europe.

Here is how I think Canadian customization should look in Enlisted:

That’s all for now. I hope to see Canada added as a faction in the future! :canada:

I actually think this would be a great secondary BR II option to a Australian No. 1 sniper rifle in the tech tree. Mostly because Sniper squads, both tech tree and event/premiums, are very underperforming, and letting this magnificent rifle suffer because it’s locked inside of a poor squad would be quite unfortunate…

Which is why I massively prefer this as a unique squad weapon.

I should also note that a Turner SMLE with a 20-round Lee-Enfield trench magazine could be another option.

And, my personal favourite, re-release the current Turner SMLE rifle, as is, but with a Canadian Radioman squad - as it always should have been. Just now with access to Rocket Artillery as well.

Ad‑ding Italian troops is certainly a good thing. They formed an important component within British‑led forces.

Quite often though, Italian units were used as bait and expendable assets by the British. To avoid taking heavy losses themselves, British forces would send Italian troops to probe the enemy.

Italy fielded large, capable armies. It would make sense to add a dedicated tech‑tree and set of units for Italian forces on the Allied side. This could also lay groundwork for a future standalone British tech‑tree
There are clear distinctions between Italian and German forces. Simply giving British units reskinned Italian gear would feel rather underwhelming.

Oh? What’s that? I am a canadian and there’s german POW’s in sight?? Whaaaaaaaat!!!
