I think it would be good idea to move the tank ammunition resupply point near the objective so campers would be forced to get close when they run out of he shells. Currently it is in the back of the map which is also inconvenient for brave individuals who like to fight close to the action.
Brave tankers should not be forced to retreat when out of ammo
Actually, I would rather see the supply points between the greyzone and the objective - about where your team would build rally points.
Also we could go even further, tank supply needs to be build by engineers. - this would create a “forward base” kind of feeling, where each team actually has a “player build supply base”.
Now add that together with heavy AT and AA guns or even field artillery that can only be build at those bases, you would actually have real bases and frontlines that fight each other.
Now to be fair, for such system to work we would need bigger objective zones and AI having greater effective range - but it could work.
I would rather see this become a new class, some sort of tank engineer capable of making a resupply point while also being able to build basic engineer things such as Rally points, hedgehogs and ammo boxes. These guys would be perfect for heavier AT guns as well. Acting is a support for the tank, tank crews were often surrounded by infantry to protect them anyways.
Just a idea but I do also agree They could do with moving the ammo a little more forward, at a minimum another 50 m toward the objective. Not quite Rally point distance but to where they have to leave the gray zone to resupply by at least a good 40-50m away from where they would normally hide. This way they can still maintain distance but when they run out of ammo they have to reveal themselves from the gray zone, and infantry would have the opportunity to attack enemy tanks Allied infantry could defend them.
Maybe it’s more that people don’t want to be spawn-sniped from a practically invincible greyzone tank player who’s too coward to move forward… But maybe that’s just me…
tanks are meant to be infantry killer and demanding tank to come close so people can easily kill it with infantry is ridiculous, specially cause you have loads of counters. some counters from US and japan dont work as they should, but we should buff those counters and not demand tanks to be easy xp pinatas.
Okay… Try setting up an AT gun on the beach of Normandy while a greyzone camper pot-shots the spawn incessantly. I’ll wait.
Same with AT launchers and Tanks.
And let’s not forget that most players are either unable or unwilling to fly planes, and especially be competent enough to target a tank that’s way beyond the playable area. You use the same tired arguments about countering greyzone campers without acknowledging that it’s a complete exploit of the map.
you can also ignore it… both beaches on normandy have lots of area where they cant be reached by tank fire and you can setup rally point there. tank that doesnt kill anything is just waste of squad slot.
any tank that isnt panther/tiger/KT can be easily killed by bazooka/AT gun from beach cause tank cant look at every corner of the beach non stop. you dont build AT gun on spot he is shooting at, but you go 100m to the side and you can kill him (if not big cat).
i have killed loads of grey zone campers with rocket launchers and AT guns when they can be penetrated by those weapons. when they cant i will take either p47 or pershing if they are a problem.
btw even before they fixed grey zone in normandy i was getting constantly destroyed when camping on hills(unless against team of f2p newbies with stuarts). also i was destroying campers on those hills with americans.
Right, so in order to truly counter greyzone camping, we either need to be BR5 or somehow manage to flank from spawn whilst being spammed from an invincible enemy, Gotcha.
maybe you missed the part where i say that US and japan need better counters aka better AT gun and rocket launcher…
why is KT not a problem for soviets? even on BR3 panzerfaust has a chance of killing KT on long range cause of angle of impact. not to mention any plane with even BR1 plane with 50kg bomb can kill KT.
if you think that grey zone tanks are such a big problem, simply learn to dive bomb.
such BS statement. on d-day you can easily flank without ever exposing yourself to enemy tank in grey zone. not to mention tank needs anywhere between 20-60 seconds to get into position to be able to shoot at beach and by that time you should have at least 1 rally point in position where tank cant reach.
Get over it, its not coward nor its invincible to greyzone snipe from spawn when there is hills and buildings covering it. Most of the time you will face berlin maps in BR 5 which an easy det pack kills.
Bunch of stupid people really overthinks that tanks are “op” or some shit in playing firled when they are just a metal cage that gets 1-2 shot destroyed by a mere soft soil cave nuker called “tnt explosive packs”. Nerf that and tanks will play normally again since no one wants to die instantly with explosives pack from a cunning guys.
it is you that cant accept that grey zone tanks arent invincible no matter what arguments i provide. i am infantry main that sometimes plays planes and tanks. i dont have any problem either ignoring grey zone tanks and placing rally point on places where they arent a problem, or destroying those tanks if they are problem with various weapons.
i have already told solutions in numerous similar topics on how to “fix” grey zone camping… simply introduce counters to them for all nations on all BR:
AT rocket launcher that can penetrate 200+mm (for US/japan)
