Idea for nerfing planes/vehicles

I think increasing the amount of unit rotations before you can respawn back into a plane/tank would help reduce vehicle spam. Right now if you jump into a vehicle and die all you have to do is go into 2 infantry squads and then you can jump back into the air. I think doubling that would make it feel less spammy. So you would need to play 4 or 5 infantry squads before you’d be able to jump into a vehicle again. If you are running multiple vehicles and choose one it should lock you out from being able to bring a second one instantly, and you would have to go through 4 or 5 infantry squads again before you can select a different one. I think this would reduce suicide bombing and make pilots care more about dying/make bringing fighters to the match matter more to take down bombers. This is just a quick idea I had and I would love to hear what you think

i think, that solution will not effect that hard, as it has to be.

we need some couple of solutions, which combined balance the issues.
(and i dont want a nerf into hell, because i like the planes and like the idea of, cover your mates from the air)

Yeah I feel like this combined with better damage models on planes/better AA options would be a good way to balance planes. Obviously I don’t want planes to be nerfed to the ground, but at the same time they shouldn’t be dominating as hard as they are currently are

As long as ppl manifest their desire for something (ANYTHING) to be done about bombers… MAYBE the devs will do something about it (at last)

Hopefully, as Tx above me stated, a combination of this plus other ideas such as better AA and non tanky plane models would make planes feel less op and better to fight against

your idea is good only for the conquest, and would be a very good thing.

However, in an invasion this would give the defenders a very big advantage. since in defence they have unlimited tickets, clearly we see many already dying on purpose to get their famous planes or tanks!

on one of my previous games, i spawned assault, in invasion in attack, took two planes in my face and tanks, i decide to take my planes out, IN PERMANENCE i was at 2 planes against me. I killed 10 of them, I killed one, another one came to replace it, yes we can slow down because in addition to killing the planes, I massacred the opposite team on the ground (more than 200kills) but on all the length of the game there were two German planes in the sky whereas I was the only American plane of the game An endless chain of aircraft abuse, I have missions to do as an infantryman and am forced to play my aircraft. They were able to do this because they have unlimited spawns, so your idea of forcing 4/5 squads to play to use a plane or a tank is not feasible. The defenders don’t have to kill themselves to get their vehicles back, it has no impact on their game as the tickets are unlimited for the defenders.

but for the conquests I am 100% with your idea

I remember someone suggested making invasion like Red Orchestra 2 where the defenders also run on tickets. Maybe something like that could work, or maybe that’s a bad idea, could be interesting though

I would tweak the idea.
Do not increase the limit of rotation steps.
Instead introduce a timer. Lets say you have to wait 5 minutes before you are allowed to spawn back into plane.

Benefits:

  • Kamikaze is penalized. Because you have to wait a long time before getting back into plane.
  • Even if you have two planes you cannot spam them again.
  • PPL don’t kill their squads fast to get back into plane, what costs tickets.

Biggest issue is a poor damage model. Planes have to be minced out of the sky. If they’re leaking water/oil they’ll still fly until they’re burned out of the sky. I know this because I fly the fw190 in Normandy. It’s got like 6 cannons. It shouldn’t have to take 200 rounds to chop down a P-38/47/51.

When it comes to tanks, major damage to the turret, main gun and engine shouldn’t be repairable, but yet it is, taking only a few seconds to repair at that.
