Ya but at what cost? Was the time sink reasonable in any way shape or form? The answer to that is a resounding NO even WITH premium it still takes a long time… Remember most of us have jobs we cant be gaming for 12 hours a day…
Its getting more common that any purchasable must not give an unfair advantage and if it does it often leads games dead in the water…
Look at Battlefront 2 because of loot boxes the game was basically abandoned by the player base within the first 3 months of release…
This is becoming more and more common across the world and if it can happen to AAA game development studios it can happen to any company.
I have a job and attend college. Bold of you to assume I don’t work. And I consider 50-75 hours for a full campaign (depending upon skill level with 50 being top tier players and 75 being bottom tier) to be just fine.
But… this is a ftp… Of course they’re going to have more paid mechanics when its not from a AAA studio and ftp
I just finished one month of premium, it ended today, just a few minutes or hours ago in fact. I also bought the Battle Pass. I also lost my part-time job a few months ago, thankfully managed to get on EI otherwise I’d really be in a pickle. So, for that whole month, I have been unemployed and I have indeed been spending many hours pretty much every single day with this game, usually at minimum doing the missions or whatever they’re called unless there’s MAYBE 1-2 left for me to do the next day, so I was grinding pretty darn consistently.
For the Normandy Campaign, I got to level 24 (very close to 25) with the US and level 4 with Germany, which I probably mostly grinded when it was free, before I realized that I REALLY need to just focus on one side of one front otherwise I’ll be stuck with early-level gear. For the Moscow campaign, level 8 for USSR and level 2 for Germany.
I enjoy both the planes and the tanks, don’t want to choose between one or the other when I play especially since I don’t know which map I’ll be playing in before I get there. I also don’t want to put down another $10 for one month. Guess I’m done with this game… if I don’t play anymore, I’ll be unable to comment on this forum in a week. We’ll see how it goes.
I don’t understand what the point of this post is. Except that you’re done playing the game I guess.
I shared how much I managed to unlock with one month of premium, plus battle pass, and well there was some grinding before that but I don’t think I accomplished all that much prior to spending the money. Also, this thread is about things being over-priced. If premium was just 500 E for a month, I’d have probably already put the money down.
Agreed, premium is x2 the price of what I’d consider reasonable. Then I would consider buying it, but right now theres no way I would.
Yeah, also I had a thought. So I grind pretty damn far with the US in that month, plus I’ve barely touched the German factions. I’m too used to having 6 available squads (mostly having those 2 vehicle squads for both a tank and a plane) to return to using only 4 squads. So yeah, if I end up still playing, I’ll probably settle for trying out what it’s like to grind the German side for free to compare it to how it was grinding the US side with premium. Could learn some things, and who knows, maybe they’ll give premium 50% off sometime, I’d be fine paying $5 for another month of 2x XP, 1/2-time academy training, and that juicy 2nd vehicle squad. At least with the Germans, I’m not used to having 6 squads, but with allies I am, so it won’t hurt as much. So who knows, might just stick around, but I don’t think I’ll be touching the US side again for a while…
