Look, I’m really easygoing on spending money on video games since it is my only hobby that does actually cost money, but the offers in this game are ridiculous.
~35 - 45€ for a premium tank? Or a single squad? Without any additional cash shop currency or premium time? And no other bonuses than XP? There is zero reason for anyone to buy these packages. In Warthunder we would at least get additional in-game currency with premium vehicles - which this game does not have. There arent even any test option or previews to check what you’re about to buy.
The current offers don’t even make sense within the games own economy. The CBT package for Berlin is just a little more expensive than one of the new Engineer Squads, yet you get TWO insanely good SMG squads with CBT. One Pz III M is more expensive than the MG Squad Bundle on Normandy, which gives you TWO Squads with “legendary” guns.
So what is my suggestion? Well, I dont know. Maybe make the pricing a bit more reasonable? If you want people to buy a 40€ tank, you better put 3.000 coins and two weeks Premium in there.
It’s a shame that such a promising game comes with such a weird ass monitization, which is somehow even more obscure than Warthunder.
idk 12 bucks us for 1000 coins isn’t super outrageous i think its the actual price of some of the squads lol like 3750 for the johnson squad and 4250 for the M24 tank squad are a little expensive like the latter tops out at nearly 60 bucks USD (i think its like $56 roughly in coins) so yea i see where your coming from
Yes, the asking price for premium content, especially the most recent stuff, is completely excessive.
The Chaffee is just a light tank with a decent gun, there is no way it’s worth $40. If they sold it for $15 I think a lot more people will be willing to buy it, especially as an early alternative to the M8.
They really need to lower the prices of future premium content, if they actually expect players to buy it.
Agreed,IMO the normandy g41 and jhonson engineer squads don´t worth 40 euros/dollars…same with the premium tanks.
I´ve been playing normandy campaing since the introduction of those and up today I haven´t seen any player with that.
Meanwhile some matches you can see the browning m1918 and wz 28 premium squads.
Unfortunately, they found out that “whales hunting” works in War Thunder. They’ll keep pumping out newer premium items at ridiculously over-the-top prices, because there will be people buying them. Then, later, they’ll periodically hold sales where everything will be at best 50% off, and so normal people will buy what they want at what instead would be a reasonable “normal” price.
And, yes, the lack of additional gold and premium time in such expensive bundles is baffling.
Honestly o think the reason they did that is to incentivize people to not buy the Chaffee… I know it sounds weird but I honestly think they’re trying to limit how many people buy premium squads by making them really expensive. If that’s what they intended it oddly works but if it’s not then yeah the screwed up.

Just feels like they are as, for example, the 2nd infantry devision for the Engineer class on Normandy literally says:
Soldiers Perks -
+50% building speed
+100% health regen out of combat
+40% building resources
+12% firearm reload
That, to me, sounds pay2win
Also, this comes with the Johnson M1941, a gun that I don’t think you can get outside of just buying the squad.
It literally says: “Self-loading rifle designed by Melvin Johnson in 1938. It differed from the M1 Garand in LESS RECOIL and a MORE CAPACIOUS MAGAZINE”
The M1 Garand is one of the best self-loading rifles that I’ve had the chance to use so far and 1 shot downs people… more ammo and less recoil sounds like an insane p2w buff.
Anyway, maybe not all squads are as p2w as this one idk.
To be fair those are all perks that you can get over time, however in that regards it does sound a bit. However most purchased squads im pretty sure actually come with less troops and are restricted to lower numbers like 4, or 5.
You can change those perks and get them on other rank 4 and 5 soldiers. They’re also limited to 4 soldiers that are locked same with the weapons so no radio operator, MGs, assaulters or anything can be added. A normal rank 2 engineer squad is far better. If you want to pay 9$ for each gimped soldier be my guest but seems to be a pay to lose squad to me
yep. most premium squads are just trash tier now days. No engineer slot means those squads dont have any ‘end game’ capability…
Some weapons are good but some 4star soldiers have worse stats then regular 4star soldiers… Axis mg squad at moscow is good example. Regular 4 star gunners can have superior perks, equally good gun for very cheap and can have engineer… ofcourse premium squad get 1 gunner more but even naked engineer would be better
Yeah definitely. They’re good initially no doubt but your standard squads will very quickly pass the premiums. The German engineer premium is locked with the G41 so it cant even use the FG42 so that’s a major draw back. 37.50$ is not worth it. Make it 15$ and maybe it would be in the ballpark
I agree. I mostly play with 6 premium squads on normandy or so. But I rarely see anyone using them. But in my guts I feel most my team are AI bots doing 20 kills after a 30 min match…
They are worth for the weapons and ready to go status. And also the double experience per action in-game. But I agree 40euros seams too much for a simple tank, but, even after that I would still buy It because it’s a truly worth experience imo.
