My great grandfather was a hero in ww2. he’s not well known though .He was shot twice and was in one of the first ships to arrive on the beaches of Normady. the first time he got shot was through his jaw and he keep the pistol that shot him. he made it home safe and did allot of great things i figured i would put this here because someone might know if i can make him a character in the game. I’ve played this game allot and this would be the world to me. can someone please follow up on this if you know how to. some info his name was Edward Southwell and he was in princess patricia’s canadian light infantry. he lived in ontario.
Obviously, you can be a war criminal but have no record of it. As the Star Wars the Clone Wars fans like to say: “it’s not a war crime if you win the war”
Why don’t you show DF the medals and honors your great grandfather received?
By the way, please mark the occupation of the soldier you are applying for.
Avoid random placement by df, e.g. German Gold Card Mortar Soldier: Grunhold
For example, determine the occupation of a particular soldier in the game based on your great-grandfather’s valor. Even if it’s just an ordinary infantryman.
And then some deeds: heroically rescuing comrades, breaking through or capturing bunkers, bridgeheads, supply nodes, encircling a large number of enemy troops, killing or capturing famous generals or aces, etc. Feel free to proclaim your great-grandfather’s former feats and dedication! Even if it is not recorded by df, it will be honored by other players!
Once again, for example, the American Gold Card Armored Soldier:Timmerman. The Medal of Honor and Purple Heart he received after being killed in action was awarded to his mother
ok looked at the PPCLI they stayed in Italy until march of 45, so i don’t believe your great grandfather was in it if he was in d-day
site used: Second World War « PPCLI
I’m not sure what the OP is trying to do, is he trying to get his own relatives to appear in the game?
If so, wow, that’s a feeling I don’t understand.
Do you want your own grandfather to be manipulated by a stupid noob, or have him killed repeatedly and cruelly in the game?
I don’t see that as repaying his honor…
Is that so?
I did not know that. I thought they were strangers with only similar names.
If they are real people, I’m wondering if Darkflow has permission from their families, etc. to have them in the game.
My grandfather served in WW2 as a soldier in the Japanese army and fought in the Pacific. He was stranded on an island and miraculously returned home about 5 years after the war ended. He took in the children of his fallen comrades-in-arms and made them siblings of his own children, living as one family.
When he returned home, he rarely spoke to his family about the war. He lost many friends there and probably killed people. I don’t think it was a pleasant story for him.
The theme of war encompasses many elements, and players will think about many things as they play the game. Some might be disgusted by the Japanese and the Japanese military and derive pleasure from killing them in the game. If it were me, I would not want my grandfather to appear in such a game.
Your great-grandfather must have been a great soldier, and historically, the Allies are the righteous side that overthrew the evil in history. The situation would be different from the Japanese army.
But maybe there are some Nazi followers who would find pleasure in hurting your great-grandfather in the game. Even if they don’t, there may be foolish players who play stupidly with your great-grandfather and T-bag the German soldiers they kill.
I don’t know what you think… I would not want my people in the game, even if I have no ill feelings, because in the end it means that they will be toys for the rest of the world.
and he was after the 2ww he hold have had to go to Korea after returned home . but he having been in the army before ww2 had the years of service necessary to retire. and to be honest i learned most of this of google and my grandparents i do know he served and fought in d day witch to be honest does seem odd i see that i think my grandparents didn’t know everything and filled in the blacks because my great grandfather hated to talk about his service.
