Okay, flying the Ju 188, sure, you get like 25 kills, 35 if you manage to hit a crowded area, max 10 kills for a poor bombing run, the plane is so hated because it whacks the enemy team so bad. But the bomb nerf seems to be more than what it should be for the Ju 188, it’s a big plane, a fast bomber (attacker class in the game), the looks of it should give the impression that this thing would kick the enemy team arse so bad, and so it did. But the bomb nerf left this plane (and other attacker planes that use bombs in the matter) disfigured, you get like 4 to 7 kills per bombing run, 10 or a little more on a really crowded area. It doesn’t seem to be that much of a fair, the enemy team would mind the plane only a little bit now because it hardly do any damage.
It is understandable that why the developers did this, and the America team are now cheering, but it takes too much of the joy away from the Ju 188, the nerf is too hard for such a plane. Just buff the bombs a little bit so attacker planes can feel like something other than for just killing tanks (in which they still perform well), and also to make people who started to play this game too late don’t feel like getting the plane is worthless now. But rockets are still left untouched? come on.
I’m absolutely fine with how bombs now works vs infantry. I now use bombers to single out tank spammers. Tho it’s been a tad more difficult than before taking those out with the nerf
the nerf was warranted and completely justified for the ju 188 and a 20. they seem to be in a rather good place right now. but the planes in the other campaigns with one third or one fourth of the bombload of those, were hit way to hard and need some rebalancing. especially soviet bombers are really bad right now
i havent played that much normandy lately (compared to other campaigns, so i have still played it alot). but when i used the ju 188 i was able to get consistent 10 kill runs on some maps. which i honestly dont think is that bad. maybe they should get a slight buff against infantry, as they are somewhat underpowered. but the main problem i encountered was the bombs total innefectiveness against tanks unless you hit them directly (hitmarker). however you can still get alot of infantry kills if you know how to aim (and the enemy doesnt just prone and negate damage, that shit is kinda busted). since the ju 188 has an impressive bombload of 6x250kg’s. and as i said, in the other campaigns the largest bombloads dont exceed 6x100kg, which is the real problem with the bomb nerf. as smaller loads dont do shit no more
The fact that previously you could easily obliterate almost entire team by just dropping the bomb to certain areas that are known for being crowded was just absolutely retarded.
Not to mention the planes were / still are flying tanks.
Well either that or return to old bombs and move the resupply point about 10mins further,
I totally agree with the bombing nerf, it was impossible to stay alive for some time, i was getting out of the spawn and some CAS spammers fucked all my matches, im glad to see this disappeared, and i hope it keep like this.
You’re right. So just play infantry. Why should a low skilled player be rewarded with those massive kills and the XP that goes with them? If you need an obviously OP weapon like the JU 188 to get kills, it says more about your skill level than it does the devs decision to nerf attack planes. Git Gud.
I’d maybe be okay with slightly buffing bombs, so long as they also fix broken plane damage models and buff the AA gun so that it’s actually a credible deterrent. Give the infantry some recourse.
Also, come up with a system to punish suicide bombers to prevent the constant bomb spam that was so cancerous pre nerf.
Nerf???..Fine. Add some *ing GUNNERS to the damn things!!! The positions are clearly there. Pointless. This game has become a complete s show. A separate issue that proves my comment is how they continually add mod after mod of the BAR or BREN instead of the M1919 Browning machine gun. The devs suck.
Because this is supposed to be a combined arms game if you want just infantry combat go play COD Vanguard.
The JU-188 was already weak to being shot down by fighters and that was its counter.
The problem was never a weapon being to powerful it was always map size as the maps are to small to have proper infantry spacing to prevent mass casualty attacks and also to small for vehicles to work comfortably.
