I picked up the MP 18 premium squad and here’s my thoughts on the MP 18: it kinda sucks.
The amount of recoil on each shot means you can’t push the engagement distance like you can with the MP 28 or MP 34. The recoil simply isn’t controllable at even short-medium range. It has more recoil than the base MP 34 and drastically more recoil than the MP 28. While it makes sense an older weapon would perform worse, it doesn’t make sense that a paid premium gun is worse then all the free alternatives.
I’ve found the most reliable way to get kills with it is to not even try and control your ads fire but just to hip-fire. Sprint up to buildings, clear them by spraying. Except all the other MPs can employ that exact same tactic as well while also having the advantage of controllable medium or long range ads engagements.
I just don’t see the point in using the MP 18 and I very much regret buying it. It excels at nothing.
Frankly I only use the MP 18 premium squad for the bonus xp, but I’d rather put away the MP 18 and give the soldiers upgraded default Kar98s. It’d be a fair bit more effective I think.
