I think the HE buff should be reverted

HE feels a little bit too strong now, I’ve seen tanks get 8 kills with a single shot and arty wipe everything on the map

Tank Shells were in need of a Buff, not Planes or Artillery. I’ve hit so many times within 1m of an Infantry, he doesn’t even get hurt or has the hit marker, its dumb as hell

Explosion should be realistic like in real life for Tanks. In Heroes and Generals, Battlefield 5 they did this right, Tanks should be strong and stay that way. You would not survive irl if a tank shell hit on your exact location, same with those surrounding it.

As of now, Grenade actually has a larger radius than tank shells.

I mean it’s kinda historical accurate but not so good for gameplay I prefer to keep tanks HE the way it is right now and change back artillery and bombs…

Then why shouldn’t they be realistic for artillery and bombs too? Devs should rather improve cover system, so buldings, sandbags, trenches etc. should offer real and reliable protection against those explosions.
Artillery should be powerful and feared weapon. But players should have an option to hide from it, instead of surviving artillery barrage while sitting in the open.
There is a thin line between artillery being OP or a joke. I believe that improving hiding possibilities and maybe reducing spam a little bit more (60 seconds) would be much better way to find it instead of strictly going for nerfs. Making maps and capture zones bigger would work too - so there could always be a way around the artillery and it won’t blast everything on the capture zone (unless coordinated)

Ultimately, I think tank HE is in a good place, with 75mm HE doing about the same damage as an infantry-carried explosive pack, and with about the same radius. (which is less than a hand grenade, mind you.) Which is, if anything, still smaller than it would be in real life - which, for the Sherman, as an example, was a kill radius of ~30 meters. In game, it’s less than half that. I don’t see where the issue with tanks is.

Is it only me or post-pen damage of AP shells was also buffed? I can finaly kill something with my pak40.

Buff to HE= buff to post pen damage with weapon that use APHE

Artillery should be powerful, but not with a 45 seconds cooldown. It should be at least 1 minutes+. The Devs unintentionally made the artillery too powerful, try playing as infantry on Normandy. its extremely anti fun, you can deal with tanks, tanks can be killed very easily with 1 explosive, you cant do shit against Artillery

I got 20 kills today while using my radio man squad, the damaged has been increased too much for artillery

But yeah tank shells should break walls/ small parts of buildings or trees/ bushes. atm they don’t even break those things and u can get stuck most of the time, its kinda dumb

I got stuck in this wall cant move the tank anymore after trying to break the little walls so inf gets no cover

then again on here i got stuck in the trees, u cant even destroy them…

That’s why after that HE rework I’m fine with increasing cooldown to 60 seconds. Some mechanics that would introduce more iniciative on the radioman side would work too - for example binoculars to spot a place for artillery barrage manually, instead of just pointing at the map (and exposing yourself to be shot at the same time)

Agree.
Gotta say: Tanks are more effective against infantry (sometimes tanks) with HE now. Im glad for that.

Unlike, Artillery and bombs. The bombing is still one of the most effective way to support the land units and make a huge massacre on field. With HE buff?..Its way more powerful now.

Artillery: Imo. The nerf with 48 sec cooldown, was a good idea. But with HE buff the Artillery is much more deadly like it was before buff. Instant deadzone inside the circle.
Unfortunately the Arti spam is happens many times, because theres still no limit for Radio squad in 1 match. (simultaneous limit for radio operators, who still alive on field)

The artillery needs to be adjusted. It’s absurd that all players start with radios.

That would be neat on bigger maps. In Darkest Hour mod for Red Orchestra, you have a lot of different dug outs, including fox holes on the map, they do help with surviving. Imho here it would be even more relevant but we would need a slower gameplay for this to work well.

Artillery is what really needs to be fixed still. The 45 second change did little to fix artillery spamming caps and spawns. Artillery should need direct line of sight in order to call it. Maybe they could also keep map artillery but you would have to build an observation balloon to use it.

No, HE is finally performing as it should
It was worthless before the patch unless the enemies literally lined up for you.

Agree. Keeping a direct line of sight to the target, until spotting rounds are finished, to get proper accuracy would be neat. Currently there is already some deviation as shots don’t land all across the danger circle but only in some part of it. Which is kind of annoying for both sides. Your bots running away from “danger” that isn’t actually there while for radio guy, shots are landing 30 meters away from where they suppose to be.

Tank HE is our least issue imho. In fact, tank HE should stay buffed. What was completely unnecessary was buff too all HE (mortars and artillery). Thus this should be reverted only for artillery and mortars.
