I think developers should organize custom competitions every day to better understand their games

@Keofox
Based on yesterday’s update and their explanation (They think it is too unbalanced to build a resurrection point near the point, as long as people keep rushing in, they can win) , I think they should organize players to fight against them so that they understand that they can’t win by relying solely on resurrection points. If one side builds the resurrection point, and the other side does not build it, of course the victorious scale will lean towards the side who built it, but if both sides build it, then the one who is more diligent in destroying the enemy’s spawn point will have an advantage. Keofox said that developers all play their games, so I suggest that they organize custom matches and fight against players every day, instead of killing bots in matching, so I believe they will have a deeper understanding of their games, and at the same time It can be seen that the balance of the equipment in the game is poor. I also hope that they will not change some things that players have never asked for without thinking about it. It clearly works well, but because of the changes made by the developers, it has become very bad, not only the resurrection point this time, and the accuracy of previous weapons has decreased. :upside_down_face:

I think the developers are able to play against themselves if necessary, so these competitions are not needed for that purpose. However, I admit that it would be fun to play against the devs :slight_smile: . Also, my experience so far suggests that game balance has to do mainly with the proportion of experienced players on each team rather than particular weapons/vehicles or any particular game mechanic. Experienced players possess three characteristics that are decisive in this game:

  1. Experienced players flank the enemy (especially important as attackers on Invasion)
  2. Experienced players build rallies (you can’t “abuse” rallies if you don’t build them)
  3. Experienced players use more numerous and stronger automatic weapons (manual weapons are simply not able to deliver as much firepower and generate as many kills as semi-automatic/automatic weapons)

That being said, I agree that the devs could potentially announce important changes (e.g. changing rally distances) in advance so that players can give some feedback before being thrown into battle with the new mechanic. I for one was really confused by why I could suddenly not build rallies like I used to when I logged on yesterday. Even if the changes are just temporary and for testing purposes, giving the players a heads up is good practice PR-wise.

Organizing more events and tournaments is also generally a good idea. I think adding a competitive option to the game would really energize veteran players who are tired of endlessly grinding the campaigns day after day.

i think devs play the game and nerf whatever kills them. why else would shotguns, smi autos and rallies have been nerfed, without anybody asking for it?

They might do it just from stats. In regards to rally points you can do a heat map of player location on the map with respect to every objective as match progresses and see the concentration. With weapons like shotgun you could check stats for how many pellets per shot hit on average, if that number is too high then hitting someone with short gun is too easy and etc.
They might be playing regular matches too.

I know for a fact I have played against @Keofox and his crew on Berlin, back in CBT I think… so they do play the game, which is exactly what you want.

I don’t believe they nerf based on their experience, I think the devs are impartial and make the game the best it can be considering gameplay.

Latest change was a valid intention, too many assaulters run in and the game in certain maps is Assault wins with smgs, but implementation was not fully optimised.
