What’s the point of acquiring a high ground if you can’t even shoot the enemy because of the limited Gun Depression.

I have this same issue. I did it in a mod, it is literally one line of code.

Probably because under certain conditions, a heavy machine gun can wipe half the map.
For example: Moscow, White Lake and other open maps. You can easily shoot through wooden houses with it, meaning you can kill enemies without even seeing them. And if you’ve got premium, you can build it with just 1 engineer. I can already picture a newbie uninstalling the game because he can’t even spot the enemy.

depending of your faction, you have more or less depression, japs have in light machine gun decent depression, but terrible for heavy, americans have a good in heavy but meh in the light one,etc.

Very true, MG 131 and M2 Browning would be a menace when placed on the high ground, since the MG itself (and thus the operator’s head) are placed very low to the sandbags, making it impossible to kill the MGunner unless you have a scoped rifle, or a tank.
The suggestion is good, but implementing it without balance remodeling would create a lot of frustrating situations.
