The way I took this was that the devs do in fact consider Stalingrad FTP.
If that’s the case, and it’s not actually a free demo, I’m not sure how to feel about Stalingrad admittedly.
Anyone able to confirm my thoughts, or am I misunderstanding this?

this is the last time i talk about the topic:
IT IS NOT A DEMO
how the fuck is it going to be a demo if a f2p gets
Where is that? Dont remember them giving a PPSH.
Only SMGs are PPD34/38 (box) and PPS42
Translator fault
Technically, he’s right. This is not a demo. The demo doesn’t cut out 40% of the game, but it lets you play through it against those with far better weapons and squads (even if most of it is totally bad with it). The demo just won’t let you go beyond a certain point.
I have my personal opinions on the subject.
This is simply a post trying to understand what Keo is calling it.
I don’t know what it is in their minds.
also a demo could be timed, like certain amount of batles, and isnt the case
this is like a trial version on content rather than a demo.
I mean, the way I see it, a trial is extremely similar to a demo. But it hasn’t been called a trial or demo by the devs themselves. Just by myself and others.
I’m trying to figure out exactly what it is in their words still.
they are calling it what it is. a trial version on content and not just a demo.
a campaign where players cant buy levels 1 by one with gold
a campaign that its way more cheaper regarding money over time/content
Where has this been said explicitly? I haven’t seen that yet.
All I’ve seen is what appears to me to be dancing around the idea of committing to FTP, or to a free demo/ trial.
If they haven’t said it is a trial version explicitly, they need to. I’m all in with buying Stalingrad, but it would clear a lot of confusion by clearly stating exactly what Stalingrad’s FTP is.
I think is is more like a demo than a trial version.
makes sence.
This is a fair explanation. So Stalingrad is in fact a demo like myself and others have been saying.
They need to outright say this then. No more dancing around the definitions.
If they want it to be FTP like they say, fine. But they need to say that and make it truly FTP if that’s what they want.
There is no middle ground between the two in my opinion. It’s set up as a demo, and should be called such.
It doesn’t really matter what Stalingrad really is. F2P, P2W, demo, trial, whatever. The last sentence is important: “Although the last couple of days it was difficult to find wise thoughts in the mountain of screams.”
To see that there is too much resistance in the matter. We see it on the forum, on reddit, in the youtube comments. Too much crying. It doesn’t matter if they are right or not. It’s never a good idea to upset players. Especially if you’re struggling with a player base problem anyway.
i ill quote something i did read on reddit from all places:
"I’ll get this out of the way first and foremost.
I saw an interaction between Keofox and a redditor about the wording of the Stalingrad campaign.
In the announcement, it was said that the campaign would still be available to everyone, with some levels locked, but still completely free.
The way it was worded was definitely incorrect, and was misleading. You’re welcome to criticize that. That is not at all accurate in my opinion.
Now, we can get to the part where you all scream at me for making a good point.
A long time ago, Darkflow promised to release four entirely FTP campaigns. They kept that promise, and they’ve released 4 entirely FTP campaigns for all of us to enjoy.
Now, they are releasing a fifth campaign, which they never promised us.
Stalingrad is being released as a separate campaign, and is being monetized differently. You are meant to pay $30, and in return can play the campaign with all of the mentioned features.
FTP in Stalingrad is not truly FTP. It is misleadingly referred to as FTP, but it is in fact a free demo.
It is a demo for someone who has not yet purchased the campaign to try it, and then decide whether or not it is worth them spending $30 on it.
They have no intentions of anyone playing Stalingrad for free entirely. They want you to pay for the campaign. They locked levels and left progression slow to make you want to purchase it.
And you know what. They have every right to do this, whether you like it or not.
The community has received all promised campaigns, and they are planning to continue updating them.
Stalingrad could be a bot utopia going the paid route, or it could be rather successful. Who knows.
You’re welcome to complain about the monetization, but don’t think they owe you anymore free content outside of updates for current campaigns. They made no such promises.
Short version
Announcement article= Misleading
Stalingrad FTP= Demo
Stalingrad as a whole= Paid DLC."
That was me. Lol
And then Keo responded to it, and confused my understanding.
what a plot twist XDDD
I dont see why a FTP cannot play Stalingrad effectively:
+MP40 - great SMG, really underrated
+MG34 - one of the best MGs in the game
+BAs (K98k, mannlicher) - with the buffs to BA damage to OHKO from close range, theyll be more effective than a G41
+Poertez - Good bomb armament, cool plane
BF109 - amazing plane
Bomber call ins, smoke arty - from radio operators
F2Ps have more than enough to perform
As a paid player i dont intend to spam MKB 9 mans. Ill remain historically accurate
I’m not angry about Stalingrad’s monetization. That’s not why I’ve been posting these sorts of things.
I simply want the devs to come out and say exactly what Stalingrad FTP means.
It appears to be a demo, but they for some reason won’t just say that.
The lack of understanding is a huge reason for a lot of this backlash if you ask me.
i dont know, and if you alow me to say, why should i care. (as overall)
they are playing the game for free already , what more do they want.
i feel trully bad for users that would spend money but simply cant, but for the ones that want everything for free or “p2w” i dont give the small shit about them. either they play it or not, it doesnt affect my experience at all.
