With all the new mechanics coming to Stalingrad. Mainly bomber formations, customizations, and new gun sounds. I feel older campaigns will not get the same treatment. Existing campaigns need to get the same love as newer campaigns with all the bells and whistles because we are all going to want to play keep playing them.
Yes, if the devs keep gameplay features exclusive to a campaign like they’re doing with Tunisia and Stalingrad I am inclined to agree here.
this happens because development is drastically disorganized, it seems that every monday they choose a new director for the development studio
Stalingrad will be like Tunisia.
Tunisia had destruction for example first. Then it was brought to other campaigns (though personally I just wish the mode would die lol).
I am sure the same will apply to this. They will get metrics and telemetry from players in the campaign and decide what needs to be tweaked before its brought to the other campaigns.
If ai bomber formations are not brought to other campaigns to lively up the air combat than I don’t know what to say…….
Won’t happen. Stalingrad is a test ground for new mechanics, as mentioned during last dev blog.
The new Stalingrad isn’t just a testbed for new mechanics, it’s more a test for a new system of monetization.
The only way to keep alive all the campaigns and keep new blood joining is to make Monthly SUBSCRIPTIONS availabe, for all campaigns.
The following very rough examples of possible subscription levels for player accounts:
NOTE: This applies to all campaigns, if you subscribe, your level of subscription gets the same benefits for all campaigns, not just one, which under micro-transactions & one price pay, forces the player to pay all over again for each campaign.
• [Free to play] kept as it is: a long hard grind and still have inferior squads and weapons in the end, however, the game is still playable and F2P.
■ [$5 a month subscription] gives you something like battle pass, a faster grind to premium weapons, gives the low budget player access to a higher percentage of premium weapons sooner, same for vehicles. One additional squad slot
■ [$10 a month subscription] is essentially elite battle pass plus some gold, 2x faster grind than the $5 Level to premium weapons/vehicles, access to almost all premium weapons/squads, 2 additional squad slots. Maybe an extra perk or two along the way.
■ [Micro Transaction Premium] keep just as it is. (for the deep pocket players)
*Gaijin can still do promotions for perks, to try for extra cash from the player base, but whatever it is will not change the balance of the game. Once players complete their grind along the way gained access to most of the premium weapons and all the standard-issue, however at a faster acquisition rate.
The health of the game should improve as more players move from free grind to paying subscriptions.
Fewer will drop because they now have a chance to be competitive with premium gear for a fraction of the cost.
The result is most players have access to almost all the premium weapons and stuff, this levels the playing field. So new maps & tech improvements will keep the older campaign interesting for vet players. Money is always flowing into Gaijin (thus plenty of incentive to pursue developing each campaign, player base will increase because fewer new players will drop after playing one campaign and not want to spend $$dollar again to get to the advanced stuff. In addition, deep pocket players can still have premium stuff when they want it, pay as you go premium.
The drain on the wallet will be painless, instead of having to scratch together $30 to $50 for new campaigns or microtransactions that could be a lot more to be competitive, a flat monthly subscription fee should result in growth and retain players, and a better game overall.
The downside with the new Stalingrad pay one price system is you don’t own the game, you are paying a steep rental fee, and if you want to play the other campaigns you are back to square one. Maybe the worst thing, with both microtransactions and one-time pay per Campaign, the Devs are forced to create new Campaigns and interest by adding more weapons and gear that hardly had any use in WWII, and some ruin the game balance. I think most would rather see the focus on game balance and better maps and scenarios for all campaigns, not just new ones, also improve the technology. Instead of conjuring some weird world for WWII combat just to get more money out of a shrinking player base, devs will raise the level for all campaigns the subscription system benefits all in the game for all campaigns.

I prefer destruction to conquest. Conquest maps are almost always over in like eight minutes
i like some of the conquest maps even if i dont like that mode at all…well two more specific for now like the regular one in Moscow and the one with the chateau in France but the rest i pref avoid. But this since the maps are well made with an center point and youre not running around like idiots to 4+ points back and forth like you did in battlefield. Hardcore Rush is the way to go there But we all have our pref so can understand why they are incl
I said that and just went and played a round in Moscow.
Conquest, Manor. FFS, don’t troll me like that game!
I’ll play just because I’m not going to quit (unless my internet is having a fit like yesterday). But I’d really rather not play them. I like the invasion mode best because it gives you time to actually play a little more thoughtfully
Manor is violent and offers nice tactical options for smart players, but not as much as the city one. So many buildings in there the options are endless.
I miss the conquest map with the church in the middle, surrounded by a river doing a “Y” shape. I think it was named Kalinka river something… Fortified district conquest was also fun, because it was one of the only map with weather effects…
Kamenka River. It’s still out there in the settings for Custom Matches. I’m secretly hoping that they are working on an Invasion/Destruction mode for that map…because it is dearly missed by a LOT of people.
The fights in that Church… pretty intense. I’m positive it is inspired from a Red Orchestra 2 map with a strangely similar church, placed inside a “Y” shaped river… Only the river was dried up in RO2.
The problem with Manor is that it always ends so quick. It’s rare for it to be a good back and forth. One side will get control of B and hold it with little problem
Never played Red Orchestra myself and didn’t get to play that church, but looking at it it; it looks like it’d be a lot of fun
That’s when smart players come in: a well placed rally point near the opponent’s first cap zone will mess the entire enemy offensive, even if they do control B. There’s even a huge hint at the match start: those kubels and gaz cars aren’t there for players to reach the first cap zones 5 seconds sooner
True true, I always start with my MG squad on that map because it has an engineer (half for rally points, half because MGs chew through ammo quicker than a hopped up hog on Panzerschokalade).
I do love the roof access. Get up there with your mortar crew and just watch for enemies spawning where they shouldn’t
Once I’ve been a bastard and built a rally point near the opponent’s cap… and a fixed mg42. It was horrible… the average player forgets enemies can flank.
ah memories <3 That church was an tough cookie to crack at times. Briiiidges how ever…fav trap map for sure
They forget to use the brain like in fortified district (invasion) i never see a player build a rallypoint in the far-right trench for attack the point outside me, NEVER!
Whatever happen to that map???
