Ukrainian Trotskyist who unfortunately was wounded in this war I was impressed when I bought the MP-40 partisan squad!
At first, I had thought that it is an MP-40/II. But than, seeing that reload is the same, I recovered reading about Soviet and Polish partisans attaching a special round casing deflector on their guns to collect the casings and reload them the way some modern hunters do.
What an amazing little piece of history recreated in one of my favourite games!
And two partisans I’ve got have Ukrainian surnames - Kovalchuk and Kravchuk! The second one is probably Leonid Kravchuk’s dad haha (Leonid Kravchuk was the first president of independent Ukraine).
Btw bags were attached to the casing deflectors. But I guess they would have looked like a mess in the game so there are no bags here

Is this some kind of Leonard Matlovich moment? Well, if you managed to survive, I suppose that’s the greatest victory, right? But I don’t know if this post is for discussing the MP40 or for… ? (I’m not saying this as a criticism or sarcastically)

That sounds like a pretty gruesome story, it also makes me wonder how many of the players here are veterans and how many dark situations they’ve seen or heard about

In the army I at least had some friends and yeah, I also had a gun.
Now I’m on the “rehabilitation vacation” and I had received numerous death threats online. I also knew a Ukrainian feminist who was threatened with an acid attack if she doesn’t stop her activism.
People keep associating acid attacks with “muh bad Muslims”, but misogynistic Slavs are just as bad.
Slavic Neo-Nazis are a fucking joke to me, Nazis threatened us Slavs as subhumans, and now those Slavic Nazis think they are “superior” just because their skin is of lighter tone.

I think they have a higher rate of fire than the original, and if it maintains the rest of its features as well, that makes it one of the most versatile weapons in the game in BR2. But the information you gave about the names was interesting too.

Oh he was quite (in)famous back in forums early days. Made things interesting, but had a very, veeeeery sharp tongue.
He liked to trigger some with his alleged sexual orientation, something completely irrelevant in this forum. (Hence why I asked the op). Also had the alphabet flag as pfp for a while.
