Thanks for very accurate clarification, you are not as lazy as me.
I think a full match of only top tier players will be sweaty as hell, and will end up being too stressful to really be fun.
I don’t have high expectations of average player of enlisted. I think it will be exactly as nowadays 1 - 3 good players per team and rest just living targets. But I could be wrong.
I don’t mind playing against good equipped enemy if my team isn’t just full of bots using BAs.
It depends on the implementation of the match making (which is a mystery for sure).
I generally think;
1.) Most players don’t have access to high level gear
2.) Most good & experienced players do
3.) Therefore good players are overrepresented in high br
4.) Good players are often sweaty
5.) High br will therefore be sweaty
Nah, I did play stuff like wot and WT. High BR/Tier means completely nothing. You just spent a lot of time with game.
You can easily just buy premium squad which you put into high BR. Most probably you’ll encounter top BR quite regularly since it will be more populated than BR 8-9.
I really do not think it’s going to be some kind of extreme. But that’s just my speculation.
I think it’s a game of averages, where i believe my hypothesis is true too.
Experienced (High br) players will on average be significantly better than low br players
We also know that this is true from the medal visibility changes. In low rank vs gold star matches people didn’t start dropping out of the game because of the ranks being intimidating, but rather because they had already experienced their asses wrecked in such imbalanced situations
So generally as long as the matchmaking reduces bots and is relatively strict on BR matching, i will be right.
That’s true, since you are on low BR only for hours (not counting seal clubbers).
But mid/high BR, I do not think there will be extreme difference.
Yeah, it’s still more likely you’ll meet discord group of skilled on top tier (that’s why I think groups should be visable for both sides on leaderboard. Not showing them is extremely disadvantageous).
But I still really do not think top tier will be some kind of 24/7 sweatfest. And that’s what I was referring to in the first place.
I dunno man, maybe here I’m a pessimist but in my impression whenever the match has a large bunch of gold stars with event name decorators on both sides, or worse yet players from the forum it tends to get to a very high degree of intensity.
And that really depends on mm details.
I think there will be way less Marshalls after the merge.
It will not be possible to farm 90% wr without quitting on campaigns as Tunisia or Pacific.
And Tunisian Yellow Allies really aren’t above average good. They’re just farming bots for 3 months. No wonder they are all yellows.
Yep. But currently I do not worry much. It will definitely better than playing Tunisia Axis nowadays.
Br 2 here i come
And pacific might still be possible
But right now the information value of marshall / etc is very low anyway. It’s really more meaningful in 1st half of bp.
I think ranking up shouldn’t be possible at low BRs. Would be terribly unhealthy for the game.
Plus not allowing this would work as some kind of natural protection against sealclubbers. Ofc not perfect.
But I do think seal clubbing is extremely overrated problem as well.
Rankings should be available only BR5+ (just like events/BP tasks and so on…)
Would complicate the sales pitch though
which, according to your statement,
what are the issue of the game in your eyes?
i’m not sure it will allign with alot of people, but it doesn’t matter.
just wanted to pitch point your view on the situation.
( more like, understand. idk what i just said " pitch point " as some sort of psyco lmao )
If you only allow people to progress in events and missions at higher BRs then you make much of the game’s equipment unusable. This is a problem in War Thunder. A third of WT’s vehicles are useless. Do not suggest that here. We already have too much obsolete gear.
My biggest issues with game?
- Extremely noticeable exp bonus for winning team.
- Slot difference between paying/f2p players. Will be probably even bigger since special slots for premiums units are planned.
Basically the most p2w thing currently, it’s extremely unfair. - Forcing players to play modes like conquest/train.
- And lastly matches like 8 vs 4 real players (for example Tunisia nowadays).
Plus I would really hate BR spread in match. I think it’s extremely toxic.
I did not enjoy it in WoT, and I did not enjoy it in WT as well. I never liked it in any game.
It’s just imbalance of game based purely on RNG which you can negate only by playing highest BR/Tier.
all good up to this point
not here to argue, but generally it’s where you’ll find the most " toxic " players or generally those who abuse the meta just to get on top.
spamming every fedorov/stgs full tigets etc.
wouldn’t that also become stale and become somewhat boring / frustrating to play?
i’m not okey with seal clubbers. as i believe theres a difference and distinction between people that are high levels and just want to play in mid ranges. compared to high levels with minimum brs being the most scummy people and try to farm newer players.
but i’m not sure everyone even your self will enjoy high levels which you will be forced to " keep up " or lose and see the death screen for too much time.
granted, in my situation i’ll probably never touch high end tier and probably spending time in customs and mods ( as long are worthed and not … left untouched as they are right not )
point is, is everyone going to like the situation where you’ll have to pretty much play harder just to enjoy a casual game?
i hope that’s not going to be the case, but war thunder high tier it’s a nightmare.
Meta would be thing even if BR spread in marhc exists. You will never get rid off it.
But not making BR spread in match possible, It would make progression more rewarding.
With BR spread, it always will be based on RNG. Making progress until top tier/BR10 basically meaningless/not rewarding. It would be just frustrating for me personally.
that is correct.
but considering that top tier won’t have restrictions, i feel like it’s going to be a bit different.
as the br it’s meant to be a balancer.
you mean, avoid having BR 4 people against some BR 5 and 3s? ( exampleish )
if that’s what you mean, then 100% agree.
uptier / downtier it’s never fun.
unless, it’s something that you desire in custom games. which shouldn’t be in the base game.
Yep, that’s what I meant. I am extremely against something like this.
I have been playing since OBT and feel burned out last couple of months too, used to play 4-5 games every day, now hardly play that in a week. The other day I wanted to post a reply on the forum and it told me I haven’t played enough games that week, which I never knew was a thing and which is a lol in itself, since I have over 2,6k battles played but it only goes to show the attitude of the developers.
I liked the game and found the game really interesting and thought it had the potential, in fact this is the first shooter I have played since the original medal of honor on ps1, yeah I’m that old and also I’m looking at you Warcraft and WoT, but that is another story.
Although I am a fan of WW2 in general, I don’t particularly care or mind about historical accuracy but nevertheless find that the general mismanagement of the game, bugs not being addressed in time, constant and undocumented tweaks (what’s the point of patch notes?!), the unpolished feel, especially of the interface (the ingame shop is horrible, like it’s 2001 outside) and evident ineptitude of the developers have really taken a toll on me.
Given that, it would be an understatement to say that I am sceptical about the upcoming merge and all that it entails, the most of which is the loss of campaings as almost all the games I played were in Normandie which I find to be the best campaign, with most maps and surely the most representative of the WW2 of all the campaigns.
The thing is what my father said to me, who has worked on many large and mostly international projects, is that the problem is that somehow people find themselves with popular product but don’t know exactly why it is so and then they full of themselves start to tweak and “improve” it and then it all goes pearshaped. I believe that is also, sadly, the case here.
But I will wait it out for a little while longer, maybe they’ll prove me wrong, meanwhile I will continue my 600+day login streak and hope for the best.
