I really like using my shovel to dig little pits, trench lines, foxholes…There’s not always time for it but I really like doing that.
We were getting slaughtered on one map so I tried to dig a deep trench going from our spawn close to the objective, it worked a little bit, we lost anyway but it was fun.
Can’t wait for this to come to all the campaigns. This was a good idea, I love when you can get creative with stuff like this.
Yeah, that is really nice and honestly surprising feature, but of course still needs a lot of polishing, especially when it comes to placing engineer stuff, like AT guns and rallies, in the trenches.
But I’m waiting for shovels in other campaigns too, especially Berlin - I just want to dig firing positions for my Jagdpanzer.
i dont use it at all … and when i do, i m just bored to do so…
imo…game too fast to be worth the time to slowly dig a hole in the ground. would probably work wonders on slower games like hll of ps,
You can buy shovels for any soldier after getting level 3 and equipment logistics.
1 bronze order and you can dig as much as you want, without unlocking engineer.
Agreed. I love the idea, but without a warm up period or knowing where the next lines of defence are in advance, there’s just no time to make practical use of it.
If defenders knew where all the cap points were in advance, or if there is a mercy period between flags it could be used to great effect.
Logi squad was my favourite in post scriptum, I’d sit a few defence points back and fortify the hell out of it. Was really effective if it came down to it.
I think it needs to be at least 2x faster minimum. You don’t get a lot of time to prepare, I usually struggle to get a spawn becon and get into the objective before the swarm descends. Really love the idea though!
I like the concept but I have yet to find a practical application in Tunisia.
Maybe if it was Moscow I could dig a nice fighting position, but Tunisia has ample cover as-is.
Regardless I’ve started a system where I give a shovel to any soldier with a bayonet because the knife is redundant there.
