I have always wondered - what was the reason for snipers not having the vitality perk

And before you folks start crying about bu bu hu mi mi mi snipers being so evil - no, the sniper class in general is rather lackluster and only in very specific circumstances effective.

So why not give Snipers the vitality perk?
Should protect them better at medium and long ranges against semi autos and smgs.

I think it’s because Snipers In enlisted are designed not to be in direct combat, so to encourage that you get less health.

Moar dakka fixes all problems
Remember kids, it’s never a matter of IF buckshot can solve a problem, it’s a matter of HOW MUCH buckshot to solve a problem

Because it would be worse if every assaulter had a scoped StG44.

Or don’t have scoped assault rifles?

Do you guys know this meme that all animals evolve to crabs?
In enlisted, all soldiers evolve to assaulters.

This, lmao

The vitality perk is fine, you work for it and it’s fair.
Now the DOUBLE VITALITY abuse is questionable, and vitality on top of body armour is also very questionable.

i dont see it FAIR
is unrealistic and that bothers me.

the less bullets i have to shoot to a bot the better.
the perk makes low fire rate smg useless.

This is on the right track.

The Sniper Squad itself is probably an attempt by the devs to create an “arcade” version of a sniper team. You can certainly limit the squad to 2 pax and play it as such staying well out of combat.

However, the more implicit intent is to effectively provide players with a designated marksman (DM) which was doctrinaly evolved in Soviet armies in particular. Ironically the westen armies have progressively adopted this as well, and certainly there is now a DM role in most western army sections post Afghanistan experiences.

The DM leanings are further supported by introducing the “sniper” role into regular squads. So holistically the “sniper” role is quite versatile depending on how you chose to use it.

that is an assaulter squad.
not a sniper one.
you even have a guy with the german ppsh

i never use the sniper squad, i use my sniper on the radio team ,
radio + sniper + engineer + antitank guy
though I usually go with only 3 people, I left the antitank guy out
