I fixed the ugly paratrooper mg belt (with the code for the devs to use, simple copy paste

I have figured out a very simple way to remove the ugly ammo belt that I have been whining about for god knows how long at this point. and it’s very simple.

Notice how the one on the right has no MG belt but the one on the left does.

Below I will provide code for the game developers, as well as modders to use

Knochensack_m40_codes_for_devs.zip (662 Bytes)
(forum won’t let me upload blk file so I had to zip it)
Side note for modders: Any modders who wish to use this should put this code inside of the “entities.blk” file

An example of the code being changed.

With the code I have provided, I don’t delete the belts entirely, instead, I add a version of the tunic without the belt, that way, those who bought a paratrooper squad for the belts would still have them while the versions without the belt (they contain “no_mg” in their name) could be made as cosmetic options for those who don’t like the MG belts.

The “no_mg” versions should be made the default option on all ground squads though. For example: the German mortar squad in Normandy, or the G41 premium squad, etc… Also, the other camo variations should be added as an option to the aforementioned squads as well, Example:

  • attachable_wear_knochensack_m40_splinter_green_w_fliegerbluse_no_mg_item
^ could be added to the mortar squad and g41 squad as an option to purchase with cosmetic tokens

@Euthymia07-live
can you please send this to the devs, the code is already here, it would just be a simple copy-paste into the “ww2_ger_items.blkx” file that stores all of the cosmetics. They have been doing a very good job with cosmetics recently and I wanted to take this change to help improve them before the update releases.

Thanks for reading!

That would take huge toll on Gaijin employess health and give them excruciating pain. That’s why they need 10 years to fix simplest issues.

The enlisted developers will see this and say

Hell yes! …I will absolutely not do anything that’s written.

Who am I kidding? They don’t even look at the forum.

That’s not gonna happen. The belts are there on purpose. And just because you don’t like them, doesn’t necessarily mean that all people don’t like them.

i never said that. Did you even read the post???

The belts wouldn’t be removed, rather, there would be an option for players who don’t like them to remove them if they want

Yeah, that’s reasonable. I apologize.

No way, you even made a code for the devs. Good job!

But, I HIGHLY doubt the devs would ever notice your effort in this one and would implement it in the game. Such a shame really.
