Today I decided to hop on with a bunch of friends and was surprised to see only 4 squads. As I looked further you now need to have premium for the two additional squads. In my opinion, you can add the paywall for troops and weapons but please don’t restrict the number of squads. I suggest keeping 5 squads as the base and you should be able to purchase more squads with the premium membership. I have a few squads that are vital which I cant have now. If I want vehicles and artillery I can’t have any squads who have really good weapons to fight. I know that this is easy to work around since the more you play the game, the more types of soldiers you can have on the same squad, but I feel that this change would make the game really annoying early-game.

Definetly no more squad slots. If someone want bring more artillery spam atleast he cant use automatic weapons 24/7.
Oof, yeah, welcome to the club, I’ve been on that soap box several times. For the membership that doubles XP and gives you one more vehicle slot and one more infantry slot, I do advise getting that if you can afford it and if it sounds useful. You can also get the battle pass, I think for an additional $10 USD, and it will help you to get more silver badges to obtain troops/weapons with. If you can afford it, that’s a good one to get too, and you can get your 1000 E back by completing the things, which allows you to find out how E functions, or you can save it to save $10 on the purchase of a Squad that requires ‘E.’
That all said, it costs something like 3750 E in order to obtain the squad that has the M1941 Johnson. I want that SO bad, but that’s like $40, which is preposterous. What’s worse, there’s no way to grind to obtain enough ‘E,’ you HAVE to pay money to access it. That pisses me off, especially given I’ve already spent around $25 USD if memory serves. So yeah, unless it changes at some point, having stuff totally hidden behind pay walls is gonna be a thing. I still need to do the math sometime to see just how much money it would cost to unlock absolutely everything, I have a suspicion it’s around $400-500 USD. If so, that’s absolutely shameful and disgusting.
I’m not so upset about being limited with 4 squads as I am as with only having one vehicle. Having one vehicle forces people to chose between bring a Tank or Aircraft; which, limits the ability to counter bombers as often people will choose a tank.
3 infantry squads is fine. Sure, you will need to sacrifice for squads you want; however, we do need everyone to have a plane in their lineup with the way Air is currently handled to counter trolling bombers.
3 infantry, 1 tank, 1 Aircraft would be a good non-preimium baseline.
But the problem is you can’t have 5 squads. It’s a maximum of 4. And yea after time you can bring troopers, assaulters, bombers and all the other soldiers into one squadron. But the paywall just makes the early game much more annoying. You would have to play much more now to unlock all the upgrades which is kinda frustrating imo.
5 euro and you have 5 squads. Game works fine with 4 but if you want 5 you need to buy. I bet you its the main point they make money. If the problem is so big for you why dont you pay 5 euro to fix your problem. 5 euro for a game like this is not much tbh.
I mean it is tru but my parents really don’t see the point of spending money on a free game so I don’t really feel too great for this change.

It’s actually more as I didn’t even see the option to buy a squad until I was premium; which, led me to believe it might be only for people with premium enabled (I was recently told this wasn’t the case though and am buying that 5th slot for when I’m non-premium.)
My issue with this is non-premium players on my team… They are gimped with having to decide between a tank and a plane; which, forces me into the air more often than I really want to play to stop the Bomber trolls.
So, please… give those guys an extra Air slot.

Yeah, only having one slot for tank OR aircraft, that bites. Being able to have both is better, or if you just REALLY enjoy tanks or REALLY enjoy aircraft, you can stick to the ground vehicles or the air vehicles. Right now, since I have that awesome bomber and that ‘Jumbo’ tank, is it a Jumbo Sherman? I don’t know, but I like 'em. It just sucks that you can get the 2x XP and 2 extra active squads thing, plus that battle pass, but if you want that cool squad with the M1941 Johnson? You’re screwed, pay up $40 USD. That blows big-time, no way to grind for it, you HAVE to pay up. Best you can do is to keep the 1000E you earn from the battle pass (which basically pays you back what you paid for the pass) and use that to take $10 off, since each E is effectively $0.01 USD unless you buy in bulk, which gives you extra E thus it’s technically less than $0.01 each.
That whole M1941 thing really annoys me, and I STILL don’t know if I can use that rifle outside of that ONE $40 squad. If you’re restricted to only being able to use that rifle in the squad, SCREW THAT! Better be able to get it through logistics and outfit more troops with it.
If you have to choose one or the other, it makes that 2x XP and 2 extra squad thing A LOT more tempting to buy, and I think that’s the idea. Pretty lame, but well, seems like Gaijin are doing a lot to try and squeeze players for money.
