i dont know how planes and their hitbox/damage system work…first i must say that as first faction im tryng to complete normandy germany campaign, so while i played some match with other faction im not very expert with them. Anyway how to shot down american P38? when i try to shoot down p38 both with an AA or a bf109 even if most of the time i get hit marker the plane wont go down, every time i deplet all the ammo and still the plane fly without making smoke, while (justified by the fact that i dont know how to escape enemy planes) i get shot down easily. So is there a way to shot down P38 without wasting all my ammo?
You’re probably behind the P38. All we have to hit is the engine, but take a closer look. We’re in the back and the P38’s engine is on the left or right front with the wings attached, making it very difficult to hit the engine from the back. Even if hundreds of bullets hit the opponent’s aircraft, the opponent will fly without any problem.
So if your opponent is spinning or attacking from above or below, you can hit directly. And don’t rely on markers. The only place we have to hit is the engine.
But the marker doesn’t point to the engine, it just points to the cockpit

oh so i have to hit the engine to shot down the plane, thx for the tip ill try. Thats why AA are pretty useless then, they are slow to turn and can be quite hard hitting the plane, let alone hit the engine
don’t bother shooting down planes, just dive bomb the enemy spawn and ruin the game for everyone else.
It used to be pretty easy to shoot planes, which, realistic or not, was OK in infantry game, particularly because they are so overpowered.
These devs typically cannot make small adjustment, they go from overpowered to crippling nerf or vice versa. So we are now in invulnerable planes period.
yeah they seem to have a habit of making massive over corrections.
