I can’t believe the Americans sent their troops, in Pacific into war without semi auto rifles ( standard issue ) and tank killing grenades. I find Pacific campaign really frustrating using bolt action rifles and smoke and molotov ( I don’t think so) grenades against smg’s and semi automatic weapons.
The marines used the Springfield rifles. So you should probably believe it.
the marines did not get m1 carbines/garands untill late in the war and they were the heavy lifters
Both replies were very informative, thank you I now stand corrected and knowing better. Thanks again for the reply
Yes, the secret of the US military is that the Marines are poors.
Their annual equipment budget is $3.80 which is why they have to train to a higher standard to not die.
when america went to war in 1941 they only had 800 m1 garands but still had large reserves of of the m1903 rifles and were still sending troops over seas
and the production infrastructure of the m1 garand was non-existent when compared to the “retired” production infrastructure of the m1903, so they actually were making m1903’s duing the production of the m1 garand for awhile
also the there was not that many more m1garands made then the m1 carbine
The Marines also “tactically acquired” some Johnson rifles from the Dutch, which explains their presence in the tree.
