I am curious how AI decides how to deal with obstacles

@Keofox Can you answer it? AI faces obstacles and chooses to cross it or bypass it or get stuck. Did you set the path, or did you take corresponding measures against the specified obstacles? For example, in the previous Ministry of Interior in Berlin, AI obviously would not choose the route the player moves, but walk through the door. But now they can take some paths chosen by players. Did you add paths to them? In addition, I remember that in the test last year, AI would often jump over for no reason, and even stack arhats. At that time, it seemed unlikely that the AI would get stuck by something.Maybe if the AI is restored to what it used to be, they will not get stuck so easily? Such as fences, steps, or whatever.

Today in a custom battle, I closed all of the doors on the objective and for some reason the enemy bots couldn’t figure out how to open them to get inside.

I could see them clipping through the door, trying to run through it.

well, it really depends from map.

and places.

berlin is a buggy mess. so unpolished that majority of the time, AI ( just like on moat ) will step on barded wire majority of the time. kiss walls and doors without getting through.

or even just smaller rubbles.

in normandy if you order your ai to stay inside bunkers, they will see something bad and start taking the panoramic way outside the bunker just to get shot.

weather in moscow, fences are going to be your worst nightmare.

let alone the vaulting that is desirable but almost never praticed by your bots.

Even in normal battles, I can often see the AI getting stuck in the door and not opening the door. I think this is very strange. On some maps, they will even go over the windows, but they may not open some doors. Also, AI is obviously easy to get stuck in a small space. For example, many houses in Moscow can cause AI to get stuck in the corner by just using a door. They will not close the door to get out of it.

I’ve seen AI genuinely phase through objects in their way, so just call them ghosts really.

and lets not start talking about AIs standing in the open, when there is a trench literally 1 step away

If it’s a window, door or wall go around it. If it’s barbed wire sit in it

say goodbye to your xp exploiter

yup, sometime, a punch of bots from many squads stuck in a trench (they cant jump or cant find pathfinder or something), a great target for Enemy tanks

Someone did make me accidentally destroy my rally point yesterday by “helpfully” boxing it in with sandbags so the bots couldn’t get out of the spawn.

Tried dismantling the sandbags but wasn’t watching that I got my rally instead.
