Hunting a peregrine falcon with a slingshot

This is what it feels like when the devs add jets and fail to buff ground-based AA… That thing turns faster than my damn AA… AND FOR ANYONE ABOUT TO SAY “WELL, JUST USE A PLANE YOURSELF”: Bro, there are 10 damn people in this match. If nobody else is bringing a plane, I’m not omnipresent, I can’t do it all.

They already updated AT guns to scale with BR; I don’t understand why they didn’t do the same for AA…

because idiots abuse the privilege by building them in doorways and ruin it for everyone else.

Didn’t the Germans use an AA gun on their tank? I mean, weapons are invented for one use and then used for another, so what? It’s not like you can’t just blast it with a bazooka and call it a day.

Furthermore, I don’t see that problem having been resolved, and it remains ineffective in its work. Therefore, neither option.

Ahh yes… i suppose they then function as AT blockers… just went to go check and you can disassemble them… i reference that as it’s been mentioned a few times in this discussion of why we can’t have them.

Higher tier AA would not fix the problem.

As you mentioned, the jets can out pace your emplacement’s turn speed. Wouldn’t a multi barreled gun suffer from the same or worse?

Plus it’s possible for jets to drop their payloads accurately from high altitudes. Meaning they can bomb you before you even see a lead marker. So how is a better AA going to solve that?

And lastly, these highly lethal AA guns would probably be used to abuse infantry more than anything else. So how are they going to balance that? Nerf the damage against infantry even more? Or maybe revert their gun depression to 20 degrees or whatever it was?

But whatever, I’m down for all of it. They should be added for sure.

You can limit its mobility, improve its turning speed, increase its effective range, etc., etc. There are many ways; it all depends on how much the developers want to do their job.

Another example is adding more AA vehicles or distance penalties for aircraft, fuel; again, there are many ways, you just have to see each one’s advantages and disadvantages and decide which one solves the problem (something the devs don’t do, solve problems).

I question their problem solving abilities too lol

But the best fix is honestly hard to determine. Because even if they made current AA more effective, (faster traverse, better range, etc) jets would still be a very had target. Props however, may become completely unplayable if AA were buffed.

And the downside to mobile AA is they just may become more food for a decent pilot because they are generally squishy and they are susceptible to spot spamming. At least AA emplacements appear to be un-spottable from the air.

Personally think that adding airfields would solve some of these problems. If only because it would increase the time it’s take to rearm or get into the fight.

Another fix would be to just allow more air assets. When the skies are constantly contested, ground targets are typically ignored.

Or they could just create a game more geared more towards air combat.

There are definitely some options to explore.

Reading your post also made me think that the maps should be installed on the PC. It’s very annoying not being able to see anything from the air, no matter what quality you set the game to, just because the map keeps being deconstructed and rebuilt as you move. That also takes away a lot of your room to maneuver.

Agreed.

One of the things the devs have been doing consistently is make the game look better. Yet they always neglect the render distance.

I get it though. It would probably strain the engine more than any other upgrade. Plus the players it would benefit are in the minority.

Oh well… maybe one day.
