Each map would have a max and min raiting of equipment that is apropriet to the period it happened.
So for example Moscow maps would have low max raiting so only early gear can get a pass.
The matchmaker will work in such a way:
Find maps that match the equipment. Try to create a match with players who match the equipment raiting.
If it fails:
Try to create a match with players who match the equipment raiting. No matter the maps.
If it fails:
Try to create a match.
Quite a simple idea build on the teased features.
It will improve historical accuracy while prioritising balance and will still allow for chaos if needed.
As far as I understand, MM will only match the side you play with the map and your weapon raiting with other playersâ raiting. But not weapons with maps.
Jap tanks rollig in moscow with japanaese troops dressed for equatorial climate pantsâŚ
Yeah its quite fun in custom matches but not not good for long term
But If people like playing on Moscow, they shouldnât be forced to use specific weapons to play on Moscow (which, your proposal isnât forcing, but it is probably not going to happen often with late-war tech)
The suggestion works, but I feel like this âif nothing lines up just make a random matchâ will be popping up alot, not just with the suggestion but what keofox stated.
With a still not very large playerbase veterans will have to spill into low âBRâ matches because not all vets/high levels are going to be on at once.
I feel like the map requirement has to present at all times or high levels playing during the slow hours is gonna have Tiger IIs vs everything low level.
At least with currently the max campaign gear was the max, but with this update the max is Berlin gear which is absolutely impossible to deal with with a AT rifle etc.
I really wonder what will happen to guys only grinded and completed later war campaigns like berlin and normandy. So they now will have to struggle to find match in early wars i guess
So a guy who only completed berlin will never be able to see stalingrad or moscow maps i think
I wonder how this will work too, especially for anyone who unlocked T-34-85, do they just skip the line and get T-34-85 or do they unlock everything before.
Also at least with Berlin if you joined you had access to the first T-34-85 and could fighter Tiger IIs, with this new update anyone brand new must use a T-60 in Berlin and risk fighting a Tiger II if the MM fails them.
Also that seems really stupid, all new people will be using PZII and T-60 on all maps? So this is essentially becoming Warthunder.
Honestly think they should just have seperate gear and uniform loadouts for each campaign. You will still queue all campaigns for whatever faction, but depending on the match you will have a different loadout. So the playerbase of these factions will be united, but the equipment will not be a huge weird mess.
