I hate the class as it’s currently designed, HOWEVER, it’s salvageable. Do you want the Saboteur to exist? It’s easy: instead of a class, make it a “talent” within the Guerrilla Squad, but of the “choose one of two” type. If you want more demolition charges or for the squad to transform into the Saboteur, in exchange, the squad will change to a single soldier (even if you have the rest of the Guerrillas in reserve). And if you want to change it, pay with gold or with that ticket that allows you to change the specializations in the soldier’s talents.

Well, the reason why sabuteurs are a one man squad, its because the AI in saboteur squad cannot predict the players actions or intentions.
If you think about it, bots cannot really distinguish when you are going “ decoy “ phase, and when will you start combat.
Doesnt help that, bullets detection would screw that up. Because the sabuter would regardless retaliate when the bullets are directed at them intentionally or not.
And would be more realistic / feasable when you pick up a uniform from the dead, you’ll be the only one to dress. Instead of an entire squad.
There could be an argument for the squad behavior wheel, but its more of a detriment and rather slow to use.
Which Not many knows, but ai will fire regardless if the targets appears to be 60 to 50 meters away even if they havent retaliated and you have the “ hold fire “ command.
With that being said,
I kinda like your idea.
But its a matter if they will actually go through and rework how ai works and rispond.
They would need an entire archtype behavior with set of rules which may or may not work at all.
And the reason why I believe the “squad” was cut down to 1.
Regardless of the issues with ai, this suggestion it can still be useful on defense. Tell your soldiers to stay on the point, while you play as the spy.
And having to choose between tnt or sabuteur is a wonderful idea.
More classes should offer different playstyle through said choices.

The problem is that the saboteur’s behavior, as described, is similar to that of a guerrilla fighter, so encapsulating all the content within a talent for preventing accidents would be more functional and as I said, when you use that talent the squad become 1 man only
Good idea, I also think if anything they shouldn’t make it “limited” class at all because this will definetely ruin user experience of new players (like "I’m getting by my teammate but theres no friendly fire - oh no, you just getting killed by this class from an event 3 moths ago with a very complex mechanic that you dint have any means to unlock), my idea was to get saboteur a last unlock after whole weapon tech tree, so it won’t be unique and by the time players have opportunity to unlock it they are at least more experienced and won’t be soloing like with snipers.
The analogy I’m using to help you understand is like if one day they decide to create a class called “combat engineer” whose only purpose is to build extra things. It’s still an engineer, but surprise, it only has extra builds. For that, just put everything into a talent, so to speak, and problem solved.
Yeah i know.
It would kinda become a bit more situational.
Because of the squad order range before they will regroup.
And you’ll have to find enough uniforms for your squad, else you’ll be running with a obvious mixed squad.
So, only really benefitting defenders.
But, it has its uses, hence why still a +1 from me.
Otherwise the sabuteur ( as they are currently implemented ) will become the newest laughed at class.
it have potential, but we all know how it will be used: vehicle spammers bullshit
Well I mean, vehicles are being spammed regardless.
Guerrilas were sort of through to deal with them.
Or… take an airplane etc.
I think having 5 spies is more of a gimmick rather than a solid pick.
But, that’s a good thing.
Not everything has to be made about meta and what not.
Personally, this update unironically benefits me because i have been making precisely pves around this sabuteur concept.
And they made my job easier. Since i couldnt find ways for the ai to recognize disguised players without firing regardless of their uniform.
But, i can’t say I disagree with others for being upset, because could have and should have been riders type ii instead of… this.
some maps even guerrillas can’t reach them properly because they can hide in the red area of the death
Friend, don’t worry about it anymore. The official explanation is that the new game character will be a spy infiltrating and sabotaging behind enemy lines, not a guerrilla fighter entering enemy territory.
