So in enlisted a huge problem with tanks in grey zone camping, but I think I might have a solution, we give them a time limit in the grey zone. When you spawn in a tank you’ll have 1 (maybe 2) minutes to exit the grey zone, if you don’t the grey zone will be treated as an out of boundary zone. And for those who say “well they can just leave it and reenter it”, what the devs will do is make it so the timer won’t reset. For example if you leave the grey zone at the 25 second mark when you go back into it, the timer will continue at the 25 second mark. The only time the timer would reset is if you spawn in a new vehicle. I think this could help stop grey zone camping.
what is broken with grey zone that needs fix? there are multiple ways to kill tanks in grey zone.
Grey zone camping is a pretty big problem, on most maps the enemies tank can get to areas where they can’t be attacked by really anything. And with a lot of vehicle suggestion one of the big questions are “will this vehicle make grey zone camping worse?” Grey zone camping is something that stops us from having multiple Vehicles that have big cannons, because people will just grey zone camp them, we should encourage pushing up with the infantry, because in lots of game some tanks on my side will grey zone camp and contribute nothing to the team.
- planes
- tanks
- engineer AT guns
- infantry AT rocket launchers
- guerillas
- AT mortar(just for 2 nations)
- A lot of people either don’t play planes well or don’t play them at all, tanks can also hide. Also enemy team could have AA.
- Need a good team to usually scout out enemy tanks, other than that Grey zone camping tank usually have the ambushing advantage.
- Underpowered in up-tiers, take a while to build, cost resources.
- Also underpowered, the range is limited and you might not always have them.
- Not many people play guerillas and they’re usually killed before they can make it to the tank due to infantry coming out of the grey zone.
- Only 2 nations have these and they’re not 100% accurate. They can also take a while to hit their target, so if the grey zone camping tank changes positions to avoid detection, it barely works, also no one uses mortars.
Honestly I think you just grey zone camp your tanks all match.
so what i read:
i have tools that i need, but i refuse to use them… tanks should conform to my playstyle so that i can easily kill them with explosive pack.
They can still sit back, just they should still be accessible to by the other team, tanks should be supported by infantry to help protect it.
Enlisted has a limited amount of squad that I can bring, I’m not able to bring the solution to every problem.
I’ve had Sherman’s and M24’s take absolutely no damage from these, I honestly don’t even use them that often, when I play infantry I focus on killed other infantry
Playing the objective? The way we’re supposed to play the game?
if you are f2p
1 vehicle squad whether tank or plane is enough to deal enemy grey zone camper.
you have 3 other squads that can all contain AT soldiers or you can take guerilla or engineer squad and AT squad.
didnt know that tanks can capture objective… or you want them to kill enemy at objective, which they can do at range…
I have had plenty of teammate just sit in the grey zone and do nothing to help the team.
You should just be automatically marked if you stay in the grey zone for more than 25 seconds and the mark doesn’t fade until you leave the zone.
I think the mark should also stay 15 seconds after you leave
then problem is in your teammates, not in the mechanics of the game.
shit take… maps arent made for vehicle movement nor were tanks made for CQC combat.
Adding this mechanic would force them out of the grey zone making them contribute to the team.
it would just force them to die and contribute nothing. tanks are vulnerable in CQC.
That’s why we have infantry and Remember you can still sit decently far back. This isn’t forcing you onto the point
yeah… same infantry that builds rally points and attacks objective?
not to mention that enlisted maps are extremely vehicle unfriendly…
do you even know where the grey zone begins? it is usually 30-40m from cap.
