Based on your experience in-game and often you play (hours), do you see :
none,
little,
only the ones you see are actualy your squads/
Alot of premium squads ingame / premium weapons on the killfeed?
If you see them Alot, what type of squads and what campaign?
A little survey for my own interest in making a thread in hopes I see premium squads more worth their money as pricey as they currently are.
I play european west. Usually very late, even on work nights, so i see maybe 1 or 2 on avarage each game. But on the weekends i see atleast 3-4 per game, or even more in campaigns like normandy with alot of players and distinct premium looks
(*i am referring to number of unique squads, not people)
At least every second game for me, I either see someone on my team or the enemy team with some type of premium squad.
Usually only 1 or 2 being cycled.
Though lately in Berlin I’ve been seeing a lot more of the premium t34s .
Honestly the most I see is the PPD 40 squad for Berlin, But it’s only like once every few games. Aside from that the rarer ones are the Semi auto squads for Moscow, and Bolt squads for Berlin
I use them alot every match, simply because I like the feel of them. they are unique, look good and are fun.
As for those I see the most:
Normandy:
The Firefly is surprisingly very common, even more than the sandcastle jumbo.
Ofc, one of the if not THE best premium squad out there: the BAR squad. Very common, both side. Who can blame people about those? They are amazing.
Moscow:
The ridiculous censored pz4 is common. Probably for people fed up with t50, as this pz4 comes with HEAT.
Since it’s relatively new and broken, OP and power creep tailored (in short, a pay to win abomination), Both Lewis/mg13 with 75 are common sights.
Tunisia:
Probably the campaign where I see the less premium squads of all… Most common is the Tobruk squad for Axis. I rarely see anything else
rare sight: starter smg premium squads.
(I’m VERY interested in the Morocan infantry squad myself, it really stand out, they even speak French. But I’ll wait for those to actualy be useful and have squad composition options)
Berlin:
Most common sight is the Prem panther. It’s not really better than the free one, so my guess is ppl bought it to either use another tank slot or to skip grind. Either way it’s a panther, it’s sexy.
sometimes I see the engy squad. probably again for people wanting to skip grind and build nice things. (their weapons are also nice)
smg squads are also there. ppd still acts like a laser, and the mp40/1 is simply a very cool weapon (now worthwhile, they added more ammunition to it)
I have always brought premium vehicles and planes, rarely squads unless CBT squad I just want some fun, as for other people maybe MG squads 1-2 every other game…
Tunisia I saw couple of times those 9 man squad both faction, Berlin that PPD-40 DSZ and Normandy browning/gunner squad. For now the only premium I see a lot is that new Moscow gunner squad.
Also that by listing this, it looks like Moscow axis has more premium squad users than Moscow allies, which makes sense since the Soviets are already strong enough to not need the help of premium content.
Yes of course, since people wouldn’t want to pay for underpowered equipment, so in gaijin fashion, they make their premium content be unique from the campaign stuff or just make them better than other campaign equipment, a prime example is the campaign MG 13 that is a good weapon but its main drawback is mag capacity, of which there’s the premium MG 13 with 75 rounds that completely solves the issue and is even better than the MG 34, destructive power wise.
It’s obvious that there’s advantage in numbers but the biggest advantage is in quality, specialized troops is the biggest advantage you can have in battle, i think that more uniquely powerful weapons should come with smaller sized premium squads since they’re more powerful and bigger squads should be mainly for BA/ SA equipped squads but that’s not the case sadly.
I have been playing a lot of axis Moscow; and I have seen a significant amount of Lewis guns, chouchats, and the early access smg (I thank it is called ppk40) which is surprising. I think I have only seen the MP41 once.
In Normandy I see a lot of polish BARs, Fireflies, and a few pz3ms and Churchills.
