How MM should select human players and bots to teams

MM should divide everyone to their BR’s and BR I should play only against BR I, BR II against BR II, BR III against BR III and so on.
After that dividing, MM should calculate and divide players by ranks into several groups as:
Privates - Sergeants First Class,
Master Sergeants - Sergeants Majors,
Second Lieutenants - Captains,
Majors - Colonels,
Brigadier Generals - Major Generals,
Lieutenant Generals - Generals,
Generals of the Army - Marshals.
By this point there probably will be not enough hooman (lol) players to fill 10 slots for each team, so that are bots for.

And this dividing of players should be most fair, because with more or less equipment, players can compete only with their skill. And nobody will cry: “How can I fight with starting rifle, against enemy with next in line upgraded rifle”.

That is for basic, available for all researcheable equipment. For Premium weapons and all other equipment, if player in team A brought to battle Premium piece of equipment, for team B MM should pick other player (or bot if player can’t be found) with the same or similar by type (weapon-weapon, tank-tank, not weapon-tank or tank-plane etc.).

This should make more or less equal ranks and weapons on both teams. This is how MM of Wargaming works, as it seems from team tables.

Console players should check a checkbox in options do they want to play with PC players or just against other console players. From their decision goes outcome either they are governed by MM rules I described above, or they fall under their own MM, which works in exactly the same way, just with console players.

Lastly there will be someone who, in spite of everything, will want to play only against humans, WITH only humans in their team. Fine. They should check another checkbox in options “I don’t want to play with bots and against bots”. If there will be not enough people to fil teams, they start battle after preparation time is up with not full teams; MM then balance teams so player number in both teams is equal, like if there are 7 Germans and 5 US waiting, before battle start, 1 German will be moved to US team, if he checked checkbox “Join any team”. If he NOT checked that checkbox, he will be moved to next session/server what is there.

This is just so needlessly complicated. Not to mention you make the mistake a lot of people seem to do, which is treat rank as anything other than an indicator of how many matches you’ve played this season and nothing more. Just keep MM as is. Or maybe separate BR I to be an isolated island by itself. MM is fine as is you just need to learn how to shoot people

I completely understand what your complaint is, and I’m 50/50 with it. However, a lot of games would turn into almost strictly PvE at that point. I’m not opposed to a few bots, but can’t get behind THAT many.

I think the BRs need to be changed to 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5. That should make the division in a fair way.

As far as fighting “higher ranked” players, the ranking system is VERY flawed in this game. Just playing the game a lot will yield a high rank, and doesn’t really take into account if you are good or not.

Sometimes they are better, sometimes they aren’t. What I would suggest rather than separating them out completely, is instead to give players of a lower rank a little boost to rewards for playing against players of a significantly higher rank.
This way, if you do get stomped, it helps account for some of the rewards.
HOWEVER
If you do succeed against them, the reward multiplied by the win bonus is significantly worth it.

Ah yes because fighting the exact same thing over and over again and trying to do something “different” in a meta is just so much fun

Still, i see a issue for the new people would still remain,
if you make BR I only BR I, nice, But
this still would not stop others from just donning a BR I set up still, and have tier3 solider and maxed 5 stars, and maxed weapons, and game/map experience, coming in.

That is why I so frequently advocate for dynamic gameplay and balance changes to help break up meta gameplay!

Yeah we have that right now. It’s called I-III and III-V where everyone is at a different stage and no one is running an identical set up other that squads who are too dumb to diversify their “op setup”

So what you think we should ban everyone at II+ from equipping a full I lineup?

I didn’t suggest banning anyone wtf?
I was stating i

Where did i mention banning??

Actually I think that is honestly a pretty decent idea. It lets players get into the game decently without having to deal with sealclubbers.

Eh. It’s whatever really. Not a I seal clubber

You might be thoroughly surprised how many players have BR1 presets made for easy silver gain. I’ve run into multiple posts on Xbox groupfinder specifying that exact thing, so I have a good feeling that its probably fairly prevalent on PC too.

It IS an issue that would be easily resolved with that change.

How is it easy Silver? LONG matches are easy Silver. Not steamrolls

By farming kills and forcing long games. When you have the superior supplies (grenades and good soldiers), and the map knowledge and game experience, its very easy to force the game to run long.

Literally the antithesis to fun

I’m not disagreeing, but with higher tiers being increasingly difficult for mid-tier players to build up to, (and therefore generate decent silver from) it happens a fair amount.

So there is a strange gap between fun fights at higher tiers where both sides are adequately armed, and starter tier. Not even accounting for certain spam methods that make higher tiers just as toxic.

I just play the game. I got my favorite guns, and I got the best variety of both teammates and enemies the game can offer in its certain state, and I have fun

Ranks mean nothing and shouldn’t be used for matchmaking purposes, two players of the same rank can vary HEAVILY with gear and skill, leave it to gear-based only

Matchmaking should be +1/-1 (Like War Thunder) since honestly, it works fine there, all you need to do here is just tweak tank destroyer BRs

Basing any sort of matchmaking on this is stupid … It has nothing to do with skill but time/games played and is gameable since leaving a game doesnt count as a loss. Therefore, I would rather see this removed from the scoreboard and killfeed as all I see is misunderstanding of it.

As for Each BR playing only within its BR … Yes, optimally that is how it should work, however … the playerbase for Enlisted is not large enough to properly accommodate it. That is why we have 2 matchmaking groups currently. The main point of the merge was to reduce the number of queues and improve the amount of non-actual bots within games … which it has been successful at. The game balance is secondary, and was only changed to balance over historical maps (the original test had weapons just choosing maps) after player complaints.

Console players can already disable crossplay, so that is already a thing.

Now the BR system can expand into more queues … but Darkflow has seemingly expressed they are unwilling to do so without the playerbase to support it.

There are so many different options that have been suggested. IMO, at this point, I think the actual answer is to fix customs, allowing them to work for battle pass and events, and make it so people can make their own BR settings within a lobby, choose the maps and modes that they want. Popular options will become heavily populated. Or optimally, get rid of matchmaking alltogether and go to a full on server browser model. Put that power into the players with Darkflow just managing the "sandbox / BR of weaponry etc.

Let players to make their custom servers with server creator to decide what BR’s will play on it, it is not bad idea I think. Also if all bonuses would work there, independently from player count in battle. THEN, for example I could set BR I server and other noobs like me could play there without fear they will be set up against stronger opponents. Other people could create their own servers with wider BR brackets, accepting more different BR’s into server.
As it is now, custom games options just needs 5 checkboxes: to select BR('s) you want and enable bonuses to be not dependent from player count. Easiest solution I think.
