Sheeple, about this matter I totally agree with you.
I’ve suggested something similar. We need a new system to prevent vehicle/plane cycling. And also some kind of punishment to suicide bombing as well, like making suicide bomb drops inert.
I believe a ticket system (like that we had during the April-fool event) would be such a nice step for DF to take.
My answer to you on this topic was more related to your topic about the repair mechanic.
Another solution for the repair mechanics could be this…
What if we could have both of best worlds?
For instance, keep the old repair system, where players could simply jump out of their tank, and instantaneously repair ALL damaged/broken modules at the same repair-percentage that we are all familiar with.
And at the same time… for everybody who likes the new system… What if we could further repair the vehicle, by manually fixing each damaged part to 100%?
One option would allow players to get their tank fully operational again (combat effective, and able to maneuver)… but the downside is that all the repairs are only 50% max restoration.
But if the player has the time/opportunity to do so… we should be allowed to manually walk around the entire vehicle, and restore each broken part to 100% (like what we currently have).
If we had both options… I think everybody would be satisfied.
Yeah I remember crash landing my plane, and surviving (out of bounds). And the moment a player would exit the aircraft, we’d get slain for deserting the battle.
It was a good thing when this got fixed
Maybe I should have written/elaborated better.
By not allowing tankers to accumulate credits for an additional vehicle, it would not necessarily change whether or not a person is going to camp in their tank. They can use it however they wish.
What I’m saying is that while assuming the role of a tanker squad/aircraft crew, the player would still receive the same amount of campaign-experience for killing enemy players/vehicles.
However, they would not receive any match-experience that accumulates towards an additional vehicle credit.
So for example:
-A player on the attacking team, uses his vehicle credit to spawn in an aircraft.
-The player uses his aircraft to kamikaze/suicide-bomb an enemy tank.
-The player would not be allowed to cycle another aircraft. Nor would he be allowed to cycle and spawn into a tank
-The player just cost their team “X” number of points (whatever value an aircraft death is worth)
-And now the player cannot repeat this behavior
-This player must now play as an infantry unit, and do something that contributes 1,000 points worth of match xp (thus earning another vehicle credit).
-Now that the player can spawn in a new vehicle, and he can repeat this toxic behavior (thus being forced to earn another 1,000 xp for another credit.)
-Or he can play a little smarter, and try and earn some campaign experience/support the team in a meaningful way.
Yeah, that can absolutely be a good solution to consider.
But still, as I see it; every unique situation has its own unique solution.
Often when you get out of your vehicle, and you’re experienced, you know what parts you need to fix.
In a head-to-head battle it’s extremely important to fix the turret-ring and barrel for example. More than the mg, tracks and engine etc.
I just believe this system adds another interesting factor to the game.
Sure, it’s not very newbie-friendly, it will reward experienced players. And in terms of time consumption, it will be pretty much the same as the old system, if you know what I mean.
Current system is way too punishing for anyone that is not camping while being well covered from the sides. Especially on Seelow Hills you can spawn camp tanks while they can’t do anything since they have a huge terrain to scan with their eyes while you will know instantly if someone spawned or not. You can 1hk them or shoot the barrel and then kill crewmen because you can’t repair your tank at any point if the attacker is still alive you will die every time so right now Destroyed Barrel = abandon tank because it’s a dead weight that is impossible to repair and gonna explode in the next shell. At least with old system you would hop out of the tank and pray that your tank could somehow tank 1-2 shells and then you’d hop back and destroy that enemy right now chance of this occurring is less than 0% if there are no cover to obscure your hull while you repair your metal junk.
I’m not necessarily arguing/opposed to the new system, because it’s pretty cool what they did.
But consider this:
-Some matches are over in less than 10 minutes.
-If a vehicle takes longer than 1 minutes to fully repair,
-What percentage of a 10 minute match, is a player spending his time occupied with a vehicle repair? (Thus being useless for the rest of the team)
-Is it 10%?
-Does this percentage increase, each time the vehicle is damaged?
-Will players enjoy spending 10-20% of any given match, trying to repair their tank?
I think having both options would be the best choice.
What we have now (while a good idea), is too time consuming. And I’m only saying this, because maps are small, battles are consolidated into concentrated areas, matches move very quickly (especially when paratroopers can instantly spawn on top of an objective), and matches are often composed with 40% +/- A.I. controlled squads.
If these other issues were not a problem… then this new vehicle repair system would make a little more sense.
And that’s just against tanks, you have now planes with superbuffed 20mm cannons that can 5hit kill your tank from above, bombs that are as good as before (at least rockets got nerfed), countless Panzerfausts 100, demo packs/tnt and mortars. Playing as a tanker atm is pure torture if you are not grayzone spawn camping. With Fliegerfaust it will be even worse. Yeah great way to buff Axis against tanks yet again even tho they have significant advantage when it comes to AT capacity. You really don’t have 50sec to repair your tank if you will get constantly attacked from all sides at all times.
as do i, most of the time i dont get to play with it as tanks are very much one shot or no shot
tanks where kinda OP, they would sit at a distance and just spam HE and just absorb damage and now they kinda cant
this update is a great way to nerf tanks with out making them usless like they did with the MG overheating in 7 shots
My expectation entering a tank in this game is this: I’m gonna die sooner or later.
It’s like picking any squad. I-will-die.
Let’s be honest. In Enlisted, you die. A lot. And all the time
Ofc I’ve had a lot of games where I survived from start to finish in a tank. But that shouldn’t be the expectation in my opinion. When I’m entering a tank, I expect to die. Regardless if I’m at the frontline or in the grey zone. This is part of the game.
As I see it: getting the chance to repair a tank should be seen as a bonus. Because you should be expected to be one-hit dead or at least so crew-decimated that you’re crippled and forced to leave your tank (unless you want to that last-minute-desperate kill).
I like this new system. I understand why some people don’t. But in my opinion it adds something.
HE was broken for 2 years with ghost shells happening all the time, you were forced to aim at the infantry body for the actual aoe explosion instead attacking ground which is way more manageable, now they are fixed and can actually kill people with HE with only slight aim required but tank viability and defense got nerfed to the ground so if your tank can’t be angled and your reverse speed is bad then you will die much quicker than before. I guess you only want infantry in this game and nothing else, you should know it’s a game that tries to simulate WW2 battles where you would always find some tanks and planes you really don’t want to nerf something so much to the ground as the tanks in current iteration. Imagine playing as infantry and having to use medkit (with who knows how many uses) on every single part of your damaged body if you got hit by single arty shell or a nade. That’s the current tank “gameplay” after you get hit a single time by anything with anything of 20mm caliber or higher.
Has anyone actually noticed a difference “practically” playing the game since update?..cos I havent
Tankers still play the same, and die the same
Id say the repair system is pretty forgetable (in a practical sense). If i was going to be annoyed at something it would be the crappy sliding/traction addition.
Yeah agree, not much has changed for me. I usually bail on the tank after taking a hit bad enough to hurt it and kill the crew if I’m not dead already. If I could have repaired before I can probably still manage to repair now.
It’s no bueno

It’s not a good thing when tanks can only be used on level terrain (maybe with a slight incline).
And the same goes for jeeps/map vehicles that are really slow. Like if there’s an incline, it’s faster to run on foot than it is to try driving a jeep up a hill.
Maintenance has indeed become more difficult, but it has become faster and easier to repair tracks or engines. This is not a problem. Now it will become more effective to attack the turret, which is beneficial to the weak vehicles and infantry.
Maintenance is just an option. It should not be as effective as before.(Hiding behind tanks and easily repairing turrets and barrels.)
This is a weakening of tanks, but it is definitely a good thing for infantry.
It’s a confirmed issue that’s been forwarded. We just have to wait.
I wanted to give it sometime to test it before i decided if i like it or not.
But ive decided for now that i love it, just like i love that you can dig trenches. (Not sarcasm)
Problem being that the oppurtunity for it is barely existant for it to matter much.
Maybe might become more relevant later
…or not
obvious
Obvious?!? You wanna talk about obvious?
Same dude who goes on high ground against bad sweatlords mains Tunisia Allies and spams explosives, end gear autos, Shermans and A-20s.
But well, using background gameplay of slaughtering Panzer IIs and IIIs with a T-34 in Moscow while making fun of sweatlords should also well be a bit obvious so joke is on us.
… followed by df dicksucking of whatever nonsense just came out.
its funny how obvious it is who the perpetual idiots in this forum are, since in their inferiority complexes they constantly try to attack other people personally.
they embarrassed themselves with one stupid post after another
