How long it takes to repair a vehicle (after the big update)

According to people on forum, the new vehicle repair system is “supposedly faster” than the previous system.

So I did some fact checking, and played a few matches yesterday with my Tiger Tank…

Before you watch the video, guess how long it takes to repair 5 critically broken tank-parts?

And you can also factor in additional variables, such as how many crewmen you lose before your tank is fully operational again.

Now I wonder how long it would take to repair more than 7+ broken modules?

At the FAST PACE that this game is known for… Do players (tankers) really have 60+ seconds to waste while repairing the vehicle? Especially when it only takes 60-90 seconds for an aircraft to rearm/re-engage a newly-repaired tank.
Also, for how small maps are… and the short distance inbetween objectivea… do tankers really have 60+ seconds to waste (repairing their vehicle), when the next objective can be fully captured by the time the tanker re-enters the fight?

you’re both right and wrong.

In the previous repair system, you never repaired all damaged parts to full health.

In your video, you decided to repair some parts to more health than required to make them functional.

I do really like this new system. It means you have to be smarter and tactical in repairing your tank.
It’s not as braindead as it was.

Also perks like this will truly matter now:

I only repair my tank to full max if the situation offers me that. If my Tiger barrel is destroyed in a hot engagement I neglect my damaged tracks for example. I fix the vital parts, annihilate the threat. And then. When the situation offers me the opportunity, I repair other parts like tracks and MG.

I’m so tired of people saying the exact same question and yet no one seems to want to nerf planes or make infantry lives more miserable to keep it in balance with the tanks so it’s not just the tanks that suffer.

the new system is fucking bad and shows whoever decided to introduce it doesnt understand the game.
i already posted the perfect solution to the problem: keep the cool looking xray animation to see what was damaged and bring back the old repair mechanic.
every new player trying tanks will complain and post on reviews “bad game, cant even properly repair my tank i bought for 60$” :smiley:

Sounds like a great investment breaking every two minutes because someone decided to track you or you get hit by an anti personnel mine and not die.

At least one good thing could be said there’s no such thing as pay to win when it comes to tanks Unless You’re a Gray zone camper.

But you belong to a minority, as it seems. The majority likes this new repair system. So your solution is far from perfect, I guess.

Oh I see a masochism simulator when this game is so fast-paced and punishes you if you’re not in a certain place at a certain time perfect.

I was referring to @ParaDivision comment you can buy the best tank but you can get tracked or blown up so easily so it doesn’t seem like tanks are all that much of A great investment.

Bruh that’s expected, before that you takes 12s repairing the entire tank in functional stage(yellow at least), currently, I advice you drop the tank and fight as cut budget assaulter instead of wasting time

At this point the people who are defending the tank repair mechanic I think half of them have gone mad and I’ve played Warframe and the people over there are special kind of crazy.

If we follow that philosophy you can just say screw repair kits and just load your tank crew with Grenade pouches and come out spamming explosives.

remaining on topic with actual usefulness in the conversation, the new system is good.

and you need perks to make it faster.

overall, good changes despite your feelings.

whether makes it realistic or not, allows you to change what you need and allows you to repair it more than once.

it wasn’t designed to be faster, because it was just stupid.

in situations where,
you took out your opponents the engine / tracks / weapons yet the guy was able to repair the tank fully in 5 seconds.

not ideal, not fun, and not even fair remotely.

something i don’t expect you can understand. but sure.

I don’t understand your group of people defending tanks nerf and yet we say nothing about the plane or infantry.

Sir, I prefer an ammo swapping perk and loder perk + boarding speed perk than repair perk, there is a reason for that, because your tank is more likely to die than getting chance to repair it… and now is even less probably to do so

Only reason we have to pick spammy perks is because this game is too fast-paced but apparently a majority of people don’t seem to understand that problem.

and Every second matters in the battle no second can be wasted if you want to achieve victory.

Your thinking is way too black and white. Just because you maining German doesn’t mean everyone maining a faction.

Only because you maining tanks dosent mean everyone maining something else.

Ppl usually do everything this game offers. It’s only in your head it is “we”, “you”, “they”, “us”.

not even sure what you are trying to say with:

could be considered one, but originally, it was designed to allow to repair parts individually but not at the same pace as before.

because again, it created many " un fun " and rather stale fights between tanks.

panzer IV against Jumbo used to be an issue, where despite you being able to take out his crew and some component, your opponent was able to replace and repair his crew before your reload.

or, in situations like now, Tiger H is balanced because of this new repair system.

if you take out his cannon, and tracks, he is pretty much a dead target.

but he won’t just leave the tank, sneak to the engine, and somehow repair the gun.
now, he has to walk to the gun. aim, and repair it. then go for the tracks.

i’d argue it somewhat deals ( although, not entirely ) against gray tanks campers too.

because if you take out with at rifles their tracks, they will be forced to jump down.
hence, it’s not all bad as you folks want it to make it out to be.

what this game was all about.

you prefer, but have to compromise for balance and gameplay differences.

it doesn’t have to be all meta and one ways.
