How I would fix the air aspect of this game

I love playing air (maybe because I’m a pilot in real life). However I do see how OP they can be (looking at you P-47) against ground targets. Here are my suggestions.

  1. Give air players objectives to fight over that is above the battlefield. It would simulate one team “controlling the skies”

  2. Massively increase XP for player air to air kills and decrease XP earned for air to ground kills.

  3. Fix the flight model! Planes on both sides soak up way to much ammo. Nothing depresses me more than trying to provide CAP for my team and have an IL 2 get a 10+ kill bombing streak after I just pounced him by throwing 4+ seconds of 20s into him only to have him fly off and do his bombing run.

  4. Either introduce SPAA or build fixed AA guns at bases that players can hop on and off. These should be destructible, but also repairable by engineers.

  5. Increase damage on AA guns, give them ammo they can replenish, or just fix the damage model so when AA hits air it actually hurts them.

Concepts which i think will add to the game and hopefully give the ground players some air to breath. The entire problem with air game, that I see. is that the XP gain is very VERY minor when shooting down EA. Give players an incentive to shoot down other ea and objectives to dogfight over (which impacts that ground game) and it will work itself out I believe.

  5. I think AA are strong enough i shoot down planes really fast with that, if they will be available more often, they dont need more DMG

Also these days community in many cases breaks down only big things like they totally want overhaul game … your suggested fixes are easy to fix in my opinion, maybe work about one week max, team of experienced developers can do this much faster

I love playing air too, but sometimes I really feel sorry for the massive annihilation. The destructive power is too high, one single bombing run 30+ kill really make thr non flyer frustrating.

Another problem is the spawn speed, I engage enemy plane every time when I saw one, even with Attackers, but after I shot one down, the new one already in position b4 I can turn my plane towards it, make it no sense to do air to air, since it just speeding up enemy’s bombing progress.

Maybe they can build in a set ticket count when game starts for air. Once you start shooting down ea, losing it to suicide bombers, or just losing planes anyway shape or form the ticket count drops. The closer to 0 it gets. The longer the spawn is for everyone on the team that wants to play air.

Something that I think would be beneficial, from a corollary standpoint: Put a cap on the number of times players can respawn. As it stands, there are people who use their infantry teams as fodder in order to get into a bomber. After ten respawns or so – or even better, after you’ve used each squad once – it should be back to the hangar for you. I’ve been in missions where people (and it’s often the same people) go through 20+ teams, so they can get get into their preferred aircraft.

Putting a stop to that, in itself, will correct a lot of the issues with the air aspect of this game.

Thats not even worst thing. When people can just use 3 different planes they just spam those and suicides after bombing run. its just constant air strike and can only be stopped if someone else takes fighter or attacker slot and dont die

Have planes that actually have decent flight characteristics. Controlling the pieces of s*** they have now is like flying a sponge. Don’t mind some realistic flight behavior, but it’s ridonkulous… Maybe a nice balance would be to have to land somewhere to reload.

First thing they need to do is get rid of the auto level on all planes. I cannot stand it.

Definitely put a cap on the number of times people can spawn in a vehicle. They should be considered a resource that will deplete especially considering the small scale of the battles in this game.

I do that from times to times, just because I have 4 plane squads on the campaigns I play as axis.

After 2 spawns we got 20 to 30 second coldown to the next plane.
The timer ill go up above a min or 2 if you keep doing it.possible even more.

Another thing I would fix after playing air a lot the last few days (mainly fighters). When a player dies in a plane (no matter how) there should be atleast a 2 minute timer on next plane you can spawn. Regardless if you can pick it at the time or not.

This crap of shooting down a player in a fighter after a dogfight, only to have him spawn a bomber and bomb half your team in the time it takes to turn around and head towards objective is crazy
