I use AVS just like I would an SVT
AVT is on my flamer squad only
I don’t use FGs other than a couple on a Berlin para squad
M2Cs on my flamer squad

only a few selected soldiers don’t get an automatic rifle with it being a LARP reason. for example one of my berlin engineer still has a kriegsmodell because he’s apart of the volksturm squad (assaulter 1)

M2 Carbine - CQC full auto mag dumper or burst fire
AVT - Short burst or single shots, rarely full auto spray
AVS - Mostly keep it in semi auto mode, as if it’s a SVT
FG42 / FG42 II - Short bursts, single shots, or full auto mag dump depending on scenario
Scoped FG42 II - short bursts or single shots, I use it as a sniper as it is intended
MKB / STG Scoped - Dont Have
As for what soldiers get what, I use every squad available in a campaign, as well as every weapon available in a campaign. So I have squads with the OP late level stuff, squads with early level stuff, etc. I just use whatever squads and gear I feel like using on a particular day.
FG42 on para squads only, and I mainly shoot them single fire, burst for closish range, amd full auto for in face
I use it only inside paratrooper squads in reasonable numbers ( no more than 2 soldiers )
For recreational purposes.
Over ( when i will have unlocked them in ) Berlin and Normandy.
And usually, I give them
Sprint Speed perk,
Reload speed of the fire arm,
Health regeneration,
Faster use of medpack
And last but not least, faster crawling ( or changing speed of pose as I usually use it to stand, fire, crouch for reloading, and then jumping up quickly to fire back and redo the whole thing )

At least AVS seems to be incredibly inaccurate on full auto without the - horizontal perk.
So mainly just as another semi.
