Just to make sure, so you saw a player placed MG placement correct?

This is available once you upgrade your engineer squads, specifically Tier 2 Engineers and higher. It would be under your squad upgrades where you spend points once you level up your squad

Edit: oh I also forgot, engineers placed within Machine Gunner squads can place HMGs as well once you get the upgrade for that gunner squad
