Heavy mortars to BR3

The mortar sqaud is contesting the least played squad place with the flametrooper squad. BR1 mortars are placed well and are fine in BR1 as the game pace is the slowest there. The mortar gameplay requires setup, map knowledge, predictions and “fishing” with the first few shots and that takes time. Naturally, the game pace increases throughout the BRs.

Placing the heavy mortars in BR5 doomed them to never be used at all. While your other teammates are impacting the map with their 9 men select fire rifle squads you are supposed to sit back, setup and try to hopefully get a couple kills? The game is way too fast at BR5 for mortars in general. Dropping them to BR3 should make them playable at least, as currently you are griefing your team in br 5 if you take this squad.

At BR3 the game pace is fast already, although not too fast, at BR3 but their increased firepower also compensates because less shelling is necessary for the same amount of kills in comparison to the small mortars. Additionally, they would not meet BR1 at BR3 which is important because of all the paper tanks there.

I know it is a two BR drop, but these mortars really need BIG help, as their playability heavily drops as BRs increase.

Perhaps it should be specified in the title that you mean the BRV mortars.

Otherwise, I agree completely.

As an alternative, BRV should get buildable 120mm mortars instead.

Are they not the heavy mortars and the BR1 the light mortars? Not important anyways since I mentioned mortars getting dropped from BR5 to BR3, it is clear what I have meant. Glad you agree, though.

The only real added benefit of the BR V mortars is that they can kill tanks, which is a very effective way to deal with camping grey zone tanks.
There is also counter play for tanks: unless you get unlucky and get taken out by the first or second shell which is rare than you can easily counter by simply rolling away with your tank. Mortarman cant adjust to hit a moving tank.
Normal mortars are already available in BR I so, I personally dont see why should the BR V mortars be moved to BR III to help deal with tank grey zoning tanks.

While the 80mm mortar is powerful, the key problem is that in the highest-tier matchmaking system, it’s practically useless. You’re surrounded by assault classes who come equipped with fully automatic assault rifles, requiring no fire support, and they also have their own Panzerfaust anti-tank weapons. So, who are you going to use this 80mm heavy gun for? It can only be used in a downgraded version.

9man SF squad defeats quite much every squad of the BR5 infantry.

Which is the problem of the BR5, not the other equipment being overshadowed by these crutches.

That was just a polarising example I used to explain the problematics easily.

Except the mortars never was the problem, but rather the fact that 9man inf with SF is by far too OP.
Also the heavily limited f2p player slots, way too big gamble to pick mortar squad without even knowing what map is going to come.

I would not want them that much stronger than br 4 except for larger radius (only to kill rallies easier not rlly for killing) and more overpressure pen.

Even if the whole br4 AND br5 weapons arsenal got nerfed, next day still no one would play mortars.

depends how much they get nerfed.

a) limited slots for f2p players
b) current 9 SF is broken as fk.
c) average enlisted player probably arent familiar of using map markers.

None of the reasons are because the mortars are shit.
