he has a knife with a gun attached to it
Ok, but melee weapon damage on a bayonetted rifle is entirely redundant. It already one shot kills, boosting its damage means essentially nothing. It might make a difference if the target has bonus vitality? But even so, not really worth speccing for.
And the mas 36 is actually the worst gun in the game
Naw, I’d give that to the starter Mosin carbine in moscow by a huge margin. Poor accuracy for a BA, slow fire rate, low damage, and no bayonet.
The mas is fine as a sidegrade to the Kar98k
Slow rof sure and no batonet but the mas does 12 damage stock and the mosin does 15, the mosin is literally capable of killing you through a medkit with 1 bullet and the mosin has good sights unlike the mas
no, mosin carbine doesn’t do 15 damage, it does 13 damage stock, it has terrible sights and poor pull time while MAS has decent sights, good pull time, the quick stabbing bayonet
I’d rather have a small front post than a giant trident post 10/10 times
and that makes the m1907 mosin carbine good despite the bad damage and terrible pull time
the mas received the bayonet when the event for bayonettes ( normandy, tunisia and moscow ) started.
it’s a bit of a shame that the mannlicher does not have one
but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.
otherwise, yeah it’s a bit… pointless to have melee weapon damage on a soldier equipped with bayonets.
Yes, any rifle you can actually hit the target reliably with is much better than one that fires faster, the same way the smle 3 is better than the lee enfield no4 or the 1917
its not that bad actually
Also the iron sights are rather nice.
cant agree on that. Its an decent close to mid range rifle and is something im using for my mid range assault inf rifle squads (because of its sight) early on while i comp the Mann with ma longer range support teams even if i feel arguably the Kar98 does that job slight better but its not upgradable though being a stock rifle in that campaign. But you wont need it for long though i guess because of the G-43
On a side note the Garand here is the only game i ever enjoyed shooting it. This because its back ring is not in the way and you can more effectively aim. So rly well done with that one DF
The only guns I’ve seen that have bad enough sights to significantly degrade the usability of the gun are the GrB, where you just straight up can’t see the place where the shot is going to land a lot of the time, because of how stupidly bulky they are, and the OVP, which has two sights stacked on each other which can be confusing when you first start using the thing, and blocks a bit more than is ideal.
For every other gun I’ve used, the MAS included, while some sights are nicer than others, none of them really impair my ability to hit the target after I’ve used the thing for a few minutes.
The MAS certainly doesn’t have bad enough sights to where losing accuracy, recoil, reload time, fire rate, and a bayonet is worth having better ones. And yeah, 12.7 damage vs 13 damage is a pretty minor difference.
